upcoming films

Hiya - Yeah I climbed with Anatoli a few months before the Everest expedition. I met him whilst I was climbing in the Caucasus on Mt Elbrus. He was in training for a season in the Himalaya's. Maybe he wasn't the right person to be a guide - as he was an extremely focused solo climber. However oxygen or not he was deffo the strongest climber on that mountain when the storm stuck. There's more than a few climbers who owe their lives to him.

Sadly he was killed in an avalanche the following year on Annapurna

I can't get my head around anyone being in the death zone without oxygen, he must've been some climber.

Yeah he was an utter beast. However since that escapade on Everest there are now calls to only allow climbers without oxygen to attempt the climb. That would most probably put an end to the commercial climbing madness, as it would weed out the weaker and less skilled/experienced climbers. However it would strip the local sherpa people of their livelihood, so I can't see it happening anytime soon.

I'm looking forward to Star Wars (got my tickets booked for the opening night) also looking forward to The Hateful Eight over the festive period. I saw a trailer last night for a new film called "Joy". It's by the same people who did "American Hussle" and "Silver linings playbook", both of which I really liked, so it's directed by David O'Russell and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro, out 1st Jan

Captain America looking like being the best of the Avenger type films all in all. First one was ok. Winter Soldier was great. Now this:

Looks decent.

Winter solider is the best of them all. Anything after iron man 2 has been absolutely Klopp. Even avengers was dreadful.
