Feels a bit unreasonable from the BBFC as well though, and they're usually very pragmatic.

It's not a scene of animal cruelty, it's an important cue for the audience, very memorable scene, animal wasn't harmed. How many films do you see where horses are absolutely battered in battle scenes and noone gives a monkeys. They've dropped the ball on this I reckon.

Yeah, and I'm not insensitive to the intention, can't abide cruelty to animals but I'm struggling to see what 'harm' it is they're trying to prevent here.
