I guess if Kirkby doesn't come in here are the possibilities.
1. Tesco finds another place in the outskirts of the city to rebuild. Does not appear likely. Affordable. Downsides: KEIOC - govt interference
2. Groundshare - Not a bad idea. The stadium is going to be named after a corporation anyway. If both teams build a new ground. Downsides: Pitch quality (though its never really good in the winter anyway) - having to work with the [Poor language removed] - Ticket prices go up
3. Buy Anfield - probably the cheapest option and in my opinion makes the most sense (wasn't it renovated in 1987?). Say what you want about the [Poor language removed] but Anfield is a decent ground (trust me the [Poor language removed] fans would give us stick but wait until they have to pay Arsenal prices at their new soulless ground). Ticket prices won't have to be raised very much and we wouldn't have to pay for much debt. I'd rather have Anfield than have to spilt a stadium with the [Poor language removed].
Downsides - its anfield - too many fans would protest (KEIOC But Not at Anfield Either)
4. Do nothing stay at Goodison - perhaps feasable I don't know - I actually think most revenue in the future is going to come from television anyway - Its rumored that in the States that Fox and ESPN are going to have a bidding war for the Prem when fox's contract expires (to get an of what kind of money that will bring the rights for EURO 2008 was bought for 150M US.)
Downsides: Goodison is older than Acropolis.
5. Find a billionaire who will a) assume all debt b )pay for a new ground c) buy lots of players
Downsides: see Taskin/Hearts - Moyes could get fired the day he only takes 7 out 9 points in a 3 match stretch - Owner starts picking starting lineups - sure Chelsea's players win trophies but they are all unlikable [Poor language removed] - why buy Everton when you could buy Liverpool and have the LCC kiss your ass
