Gary Speed got a really bad rap after he left. I still believe he had dirt to dish out but he had too much class to do so.

Gareth Barry was not a good player for Everton. The possessions where he gave away free kicks were terrifying. Never thought he got judged for that.

Which brings me to my second point. McCarthy was great until Barry’s age kicked in and McCarthy had to cover too much ground and also protect possession over making attacking runs. Basically Barry’s lack of legs neutered McCarthy. Then he was hurt.

We shouldn’t give Baines and Jags new deals.

He specifically said generate revenue so I assume that is what he meant. If he meant that the bottom line would be worse because of the costs than that could be true but for our revenue not to go up in a new stadium would require an incredible amount of incompetence.
