After spending hours looking through the world's media it is so fortunate that this happened during the G7 meeting so that the resolve of Nato is strengthened. Previously Ukraine had slipped from the pages of the New York Times and the Washington Post but this puts it back on the front pages where it belongs. Given the danger that Putin suffering from cancer may lead to him becoming even more reckless the West should seriously consider a preemptive nuclear strike to safeguard Lithuania, Poland and other Eastern European countries at the most risk from Russian expansionism.
