Think the US have long modelled ways to win a nuclear conflict,do you think it's better to sit on our hands waiting for Putin to act first?

"First strike, also known as preemptive nuclear strike, attack on an enemy's nuclear arsenal that effectively prevents retaliation against the attacker."

And yes. I do think it's better, because every opportunity the world has had to plunge itself into nuclear war has been stopped by some nameless hero doing something sensible. It's not like Putin has a big red button.

Cheget.

Nowhere have I denied anything, there you go again. Just my musings,I know nothing of modern missiles so I'd have imagine that something launched that it now appears was designed to sink battle ships etc would do more damage over a larger area Very lucky that less than 20 people have been reported dead out of the1000 people plus who were in the shopping centre at the time. After spending hours looking through the world's media it is so fortunate that this happened during the G7 meeting so that the resolve of Nato is strengthened. Previously Ukraine had slipped from the pages of the New York Times and the Washington Post but this puts it back on the front pages where it belongs. Given the danger that Putin suffering from cancer may lead to him becoming even more reckless the West should seriously consider a preemptive nuclear strike to safeguard Lithuania, Poland and other Eastern European countries at the most risk from Russian expansionism.
This isn't a topic for trolling and it is incredibly pathetic that you appear to think it is.

Im looking through the available information online and on several different news channels on TV. For a long time I was on the fence as to whether NATO had backed Putin into a corner then either misread his troop build up on the borders of Ukraine as just sabre rattling or they did indeed see a benefit in a war that would allienate and economically weaken Russia and lead to his eventually being overthrown. After the news a few weeks ago that he is terminally ill and after yesterday's missile attack it shows he is becoming even more desperate and reckless. Would you trust a paranoid psychotic man on his deathbed not to try to take the rest of the world with him? If you don't the only option when nuclear conflict becomes a virtual inevitably is to use your superior intelligence and weaponry to try to prevail.G7 made statements yesterday that they wouldn't stop supporting Ukraine until they had fought the Russians back to their borders and will supply the hardware and intelligence to make that happen,if it starts to become fact what is your guess as to Putin's response? And what do you think we should do if he takes the nuclear option?
