Chechen forces getting their arses kicked in Severodonetsk.

The Ukes initially pulled out and then the Russian and Chechen infantry moved in to take the city. The Ukes then launched a counter attack and got up close and personal with them, effectively negating Russian arty and air attacks.

The Vietnamese used the same tactics against the US called it “hugging your enemy”.

Anyways the Chechens are getting battered.
How do you know this?

A little happiness to share. Had heard a few Ukrainians had been placed here. Host families to help them settle in etc.

All the local lads go for a kick about on the club pitch every night now the weather has turned. If a game is on they wait there turn then pile on.

So tonight they made a new friend. 14 year old Ukrainian lad came up with his Mum and the same aged lad in his support family. Blended right in, 5 hours of football was played lol

My lad tells me his English is pretty good but he isn’t sure of his name yet. All meeting again tomorrow at 5pm for same again.

Football is such a leveller.

Macron's a tit. He's always trying to play up his role in international affairs.

It will be interesting to see if it's an indication that the west are lessening their support for Ukraine. I have no doubt that Macron would go down that route if he thought it would play well with the French electorate.
To be fair, I do not entirely disagree with what he's said: the international community should provide Russia with an avenue towards negotiation.

We all know that Russia being humiliated may have an adverse impact on Putin's decision making. But, it's when, where and how it was said - and by who.

For an influential EU leader to come out and publicly say it suggests a lack of unity and perhaps a sign of how the support for Ukraine may not be consistent.

As you say, Macron is trying to be the broker of peace as he's always wanted to try and maintain better relations with Putin/Russian than others.

But do Ukraine need to hear it? They're still at threat from the Russian army and their country is being decimated. Negotiations, yes.

Russia put in their place, yes too.

I agree with you completely. No idea how you pull off the feat of stopping Russia and bringing them back into the fold whilst liberating the occupied parts of Ukraine.

Macron is probably the only reason there arent Nukes flying everywhere at the moment.
