As a citizen of Russia who's had an account on this forum for over 10 years at this point i would be glad to answer any questions about how all that is happening in Ukraine is perceived within the country and how it affects everyday life here.
The only thing is: i would probably delete my messages after a while because you know...it's not safe to post some things on the net here.
Though I'm sure that the authorities don't monitor GOT

Hello. Have you met @bluestevon? He also reside in Russia and is confident of no censorship.

Anyway, what's the feeling amongst locals about the conflict mate? Support? Cynicism?

Well there are 800+ people in prison for speaking out against the invasion, most major social media (even YouTube as of recent) cannot be accessed without a VPN and all independent media have been shut down and pushed out of the country.

As for the feeling amongst the people - cynicism is the closest description i guess.
As with most things in Russia if it doesn't affect a person directly people don't really care.
There are maybe 15-20% of people who support the war, 10-15% who are against it and the rest doesn't care too much.

People who sign up to go there mostly do so because of insane amount of money offered by the government.
Economy is getting worse by the day but it mostly affects the middle class (which is extremely small in Russia to begin with),
the rich and the poor don't feel a thing.

If the government tomorrow says that it's over the majority will accept it or even be glad.
