That (the flames) are where the engines are, so its not implausible that it was something breaking that brought it down. The Ukrainians are claiming they shot it down, which one would imagine if true is either some new capability or some bloke with an Igla stood nearby.

It’s in a flat spin as well - so the pilot lost all avionics and he never bailed out. So my guess is the airframe and engine got shredded by a SAM - probably fired by Russian AD.

Not necessarily; if the engine(s) has blown up it could have done that sort of damage to the tail and subsequent loss of control. According to the Russians three of the four crew ejected successfully.

Correct, and it passed cleanly. It hit the floor with only three amendments, all of which failed.

Either the three Republican doofuses on Rules who voted against advancing the bill to the floor do not understand how to sabotage a bill with amendments, or there is literally nothing the entire Republican conference can agree upon that the Senate cannot.

The Senate will be looking at more or less their own foreign aid bill plus a TikTok ban, which should be an easy call for them.
