Really insightful article from Mick Ryan on how Ukraine will likely approach and implement its future counter-offensives during 2024/25 and the struggles they will face, as they engage with a very different Russian military force to that faced previously.

So it seems (from what i'm reading from ISW) Russians finally managed to turn their biggest advantage (air power) in full effect.
Glide bombs constantly being launched from 70-90 Km from where Ukrainian AA can't reach them, while Iranian drones raids every night (plus ballistic/cruise missiles every few days) depleting Ukrainian air defense munitions.

They need more AA systems, but it also seem Europe/America can't keep with munitions demand that Ukrainians need (or more precisely Americans won't give while Europe got not much left).

Tactics adapt. But the shear numbers now are getting the upper hand in a war of attrition.

Ukrainian efforts have to be strategically applied for maximum effectiveness and also have an impact on Russian effort and resolve. As ever in war, a critical time.

I think the introduction of the F-16’s with their AMRAAM’s will counter the glide bomb threat. However they will do little to counter the mass cruise missile/Drone attacks. As you state, they will need more AA systems and missiles to counter this threat.
