There is an interview with a Russian woman from the regions who's husband was killed and buried (they say) in Ukraine. The Kremlin have given her the location and told her to go and dig him up herself. Putin, man of the people!

The US Empire has passed the buck to the EU, who are riven with splits, are skint and don't have any more weapons to give. They'll be the fall guys for the US Empire's NATO defeat. The recriminations over Afghanistan will be mild compared to the fallout from this. ALL the 'intelligence experts' and military boffins, have said from day one of Russia's openly military intervention in Ukraine's civil war, that they are useless and were losing. The opposite was the case.

With the Russian military firmly in control of events in Ukraine, they have accomplished the degradation of the Ukraine militarily, both in troops lost and depleted munitions, as they completely rely on the west for weaponry.
As far as negotiating a settlement, demilitarisation and denazification was the object. It'll be the Russian military that tells Putin how far they've achieved these objectives. And that assessment will form the basis of any deal.

The Russians can go long or short with this. But one thing is sure. There will be no great enthusiasm from the Ukraine people, to be duped again into following a bunch of Russaphobic Banderite fascist thugs.

Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts are gone as far as administrative control from Ukraine.

It's getting to the point whether Ukraine can actually survive as a viable nation. That's before others may demand land where there are Hungarians or Poles.

The longer this goes on, the more I t is likely that civil war in the other Oblasts will break out. A negotiated settlement can only begin, when the Ukraine parliament gets rid of the law that stops them talking to Russia. The guns may well appear in their parliamentary chamber.

I just see a brutal civil war coming down the tracks way before they concede to Russia and get round a negotiating table.

Too many Ukrainian lives have been lost for there not to be hatred from one faction toward another.

Zelensky has to be removed from power. I've said it for a long time and I think his removal could still lead to a negotiated settlement to this war...but if he's left in place by his puppet masters there'll be civil war.

315,000 casualties doesn't mean they all died. Normally military losses include wounded, captured or missing.

Still a massive loss to Russia, obviously.
