News is more about viewer numbers, reach, ratings as opposed to quality journalism. They like sensation or to sensationalise.I think it’s a combination of MSM boredom with long running conflicts (starting to see this now with Ukraine) and a lack of independent journalists in the region to report and verify these atrocities.
Russia and Syria like to to do their butchery on the quiet with no prying eyes.

I guess unless the Israeli-Palestinian conflict overspill into Syria or Iran/US bring it into play it's not big news anymore.
Eventually this can happen too in Ukraine. Russia are masters at frozen conflicts and then it's just a mayter of time. Who remembers anything of Transnistra or Ossetia for example nowadays?
