Modern SAM don't leave that much of a smoke trail, but the whole story is kind of mad. The top three guys in Wagner all on the same business jet? Even if they hadn't done that thing two months ago, they have to have known that the Ukrainians would have had a go if they could - to say nothing of Western and other intelligence agencies.

I find it difficult to believe the Wagner guys were daft enough to get in a plane all together. Never mind who shot them down!!


However, on the news it just said the Wagner group have said they'll march on Moscow again if it's confirmed that Prighozin has been killed..

The video of it clearly shows some form of explosion before the plane ‘fell’ from the sky. No idea if it was a bomb on board or a missile….either way it was a deliberate act by someone……

To me the video looks like the plane has lost its tail. The way it's spiralling down. As you say, quite possibly a small bomb in the rear end somewhere.

Yeah, looking like it was burning before it even hit the ground.

The guy pretty much p**sed off the entire Russian top brass as well as Putin. So even if it wasn’t Putins doing, you can take your pick of any number of powerful, dangerous people it could be.

Very telling that no-one is really trying to point the finger at Ukraine or the west either atm.

I would suggest that If African nations want help from Russia then they need to deal with the Russian state and not a private firm.

I'm guessing the fighters will be assimilated, or at least there'll be an attempt, into the Russian military?

On the other hand, would that be sensible? Wagner have arguably acted as a buffer between state and actions on the ground, arguably able to do things a state would be censured for.

Doubt that much will change,there will probably be a new boss who will step up (no doubt a Putin acolyte) and diluting their "skill set" by integrating them into the regular army wouldn't benefit the Russian military
