I’ve credibly been told that Wagner is attempting to successfully recruit a fair number of legionnaires from the FFL, which has many Russians.

Where is he going to get them from?
Wagner may have come across some FFL in Africa but the French have pulled out of Mali now. A lot have been redeployed in Roumanie and Poland.
Looking for deserters then.

Every time I see this, all I can think of is Jim Dale and Phil Silvers.

If they're competent military men then they will be giving this one a wide berth.

Sadly, this doesn't appear to be the case, as reports suggest they're joining. Ultimately, the FFL is a quasi-mercenary force and as such they're mercenaries*.

With many Russian speakers in the FFL, their experience will be worth a reasonably good wage and position. They may also have ideological sympathies.

*I know that officially they're not.

They'll have signed up for an initial five years, so each year there'll be at least a hundred or so ex-FFP who will be available - the number could be much larger.

From what I was told, they're being recruited directly by people within the legion who are pro-Russia.
