A SAM only has a small warhead. It’s main bulk are the propulsion and guidance systems. It’s main aim is to close with an aircraft and explode a stream of shrapnel that shreds the aircraft.

So if a Sam did land then yes it would explode but the crater wouldn’t be very big at all as it only has a small warhead with limited amount of explosive.

Any SAM with a proximity fuse will normally explode close to an object be that a building or the ground. So if it fell to earth it would explode just above the ground and leave little if no crater

Yes they can damage buildings and would probably leave small craters depending on what type.

Nope only SAMs are launched from ground based AD sites.

When you say 'small craters' how big? It is hard to say 2 square yards (as crater aren't really square), 5 square yards , 10 square yards?

When you say damage buildings? Do you mean just a flesh would type or does it take a big chunk out of the building?

15-20 kgs. (10 bags of sugar), sounds a lot? But some have more explosive material? I take it the rocket would be a lot heavier to take more?
