Is there anything wrong in accepting all of that retrospectively, and being confidant enough to know that you weren't influenced, had your own opinion on why choosing Brexit was your rightful choice and even with hindsight, vote the same way.

People who voted for Brexit can't be labelled as enablers for things like Ukraine being invaded.

Some leap that.
All political campaigns influence voters, it is the nature of the beast. It is just with Putins those targeted would generally not have been aware as it was concealed. Part of the design.

As for Elon Musk here, I personally dont think hes very dishonest(for a billionaire), I think its just few people understand his true motives and hes partially delusional in his actual motivates IMHO. His sudden involvement in sovereign affairs seems bizarre and foolhardy until you really think about it.

Musk doesnt care about money, which most people cant get past and assume he must be because hes a billionaire. Hes motivated by one main thing, making earth interplanetary to "save the species". He was obsessed with sci-fi as a kid, and that has heavily influenced his thinking, and his goal as he sees it is to buy time for earth, and start colonizing other planets. Whether hes crazy with that is a separate discussion. But Tesla is his bid to both extend the lifespan on earth and make enough money to fund Mars rockets. Its also why he talks about underpopulation and pushes those. Spacex is his bid to make humans interplanetary. However there arent enough rocket launches to make enough money to fund that. Starlink was then born to both get more launches and experience for the rockets but also make the money SpaceX cant make to fund the Mars venture.

And that brings us to Musk getting involved with bad advice when it comes to sovereignty. He feels hes making good progress on all fronts. But the one thing that keeps humans from going interplanetary is a nuclear war that destroys the planet and thats what hes terrified of right now. Its what he cant control, what he sees looming, and hes desperate to stop it. While he does have a sense of right and wrong Russians seem to strangely lack, as far as he sees it any peace at any terms is far preferably to the moment a nuke launches. Its too soon. He was supposed to make humans interplanetary BEFORE this happened to save the species. Thats why he proposed and desperately hopes for a terrible "peace".
I’m a bit skeptical on his motivations re his recent statements on sovereignty tbh

It's a leap, but not a huge one.

As has been mentioned earlier. Lots of smaller political shifts throughout 'the West' over that past decade have been errrr, encouraged by Moscow.

Brexit was a democratic vote, but elections are a just putting physiological theory into practice: if you push enough of the right buttons and you get the result you want.

Pushing buttons cost money. A lot of that money came via Moscow.

Sorry.... Edit. I meant to say all these things that have been supported by Moscow over the years were with the aim of having a fractured Euro block. Brexit voters didn't encourage Putin to invade the Ukraine, but they were a reasnoble expense.
Thanks for the reply and Edit, but the UK couldn't have been stronger in their support of Ukraine and condemnation of Russia over this. I am sure working closely with EU allies too to ensure the support is maintained.

Perhaps another miscalculation by those trying to pull the strings from Moscow, that even when divided, there is a shared set of values and historical experiences that means we could never be exploited to their benefit.

Sorry, who started this war again?

It depends how far you want to go back in answer to your question.

In 2010, Yanukovych won the election.

Things are moving along until late 2013 when Yanukovych picked an economic agreement with Russia over the EU - something a democratically elected government can do.

There were demonstration led by the far right. \if people didn't agree with Yanukovych decision, why didn't they wait for an election to show that displeasure and campaign to vote him out?

A pogrom was launched against those Russian speakers in the Donbass, and elsewhere, and they took up arms to defend themselves, proclaiming a Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics.

Poroshenko was elected in May 2014.

"Ukraine's previous President, Poroshenko, and his policy on Donbass: "We will have jobs—they will not (Russian speakers). We will have pensions—they will not (Russian speakers). [....] Our children will go to schools and kindergartens—theirs (Russian speakers) will hide in the basements (cellars)."

Is it any wonder they took up arms to protect themselves against such a president that was hell bent on destroying Russian speaking people.

"The Minsk agreements were a series of international agreements which sought to end the Donbas war fought between armed Russian separatist groups and Armed Forces of Ukraine, with Russian regular forces playing a central part.[1] The first, known as the Minsk Protocol, was drafted in 2014 by the Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine, consisting of Ukraine, Russia, and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE),[2][3][4] with mediation by the leaders of France and Germany in the so-called Normandy Format. After extensive talks in Minsk, Belarus, the agreement was signed on 5 September 2014 by representatives of the Trilateral Contact Group and, without recognition of their status, by the then-leaders of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and Luhansk People's Republic (LPR). This agreement followed multiple previous attempts to stop the fighting in the region and aimed to implement an immediate ceasefire.

The agreement failed to stop fighting,[5] and was thus followed with a revised and updated agreement, Minsk II, which was signed on 12 February 2015.[6] This agreement consisted of a package of measures, including a ceasefire, withdrawal of heavy weapons from the front line, release of prisoners of war, constitutional reform in Ukraine granting self-government to certain areas of Donbas and restoring control of the state border to the Ukrainian government".

Since the civil war started in 2014 there has been 14 000 deaths, mostly in the Donbass. The Minsk Agreement was supposed to bring peace, but the Ukraine President Poroshenko, decided not to follow through with it but launched aggression after aggression against those in the Donbass. Aided by the Nazi Azov Brigade, the fascist loving Kraken Regiment and the Hitler adoring Right Sector (trained and armed by NATO). Who want all Russian speaking people to be rounded up, frog marched to the border with Russia, and dumped there.

Those in the Donbass were not prepared to be forced out, by the gun barrel, from the place they live in, have their lands, houses, factories, buildings etc. stolen.

For all the chatter of 'get the Russians out' where should those in the Donbass go, who have taken up arms to protect themselves? NATO interfered and intervened on the side of the Ukraine government in the civil war and Russia has intervened on the side of those in the Donbass and elsewhere. Those in the Donbass have made it abundantly clear that they are not prepared to live in a fascist state that bans political parties, threatens the ability of organised labour to function properly, summary justice carried out by Nazi loving thugs, forced them to abandon their language and culture and discriminated against them just because they want to speak Russian. They will never be ruled by Kiev.

I agree, the UK support has been strong, as has the EU.

Point is, it's just another figure in the expenses column that Moscow thought worth spending.

Our own club was backed by Putin's mate ...... where do the links stop?
100% correct.

But were not talking about the ownership of Everton. We're talking about how Moscow has funnelled money all over Europe to have a greater sway in other countries democratic process.

Massive money that they deemed a good investment. Make the other side weaker before the gloves get laced up.
