Hard to see what Russia has to gain from blowing up a pipeline it can just shut off. Blowing up the pipes in the North Sea would make more sense.

Not saying it wasnt Russia, its unlikely we'll ever know who actually did it.

The Nord1 I can see reasoning behind, shutting it down creates the energy blackmail argument that damaging it doesn't if not provable.

Nord2 is the one that I don't see why they'd do that at all, as it was already shut down and would only be switched on by the EU requesting it, which effectively would wreck sanction policy and unity.

So yeah Nord2 blowing makes utterly no sense from any Russian perspective whatsoever.

It sent the price of gas up on the markets, think it was 19% at one point, puts pressure on countries who rely on it.

Commiserations mate in that, I hope meeting her didn't leave any lasting trauma ?

One of my students is a 70yo guy who teaches several subjects privately to lots of kids living in Rublevka - basically the kids of Oligarchs and the like. To a one they are brats.

Actually she was quite nice and unassuming. Like a typical grandmother tbh. Of course, it probably wouldn’t be smart to raise hell with your grandkid’s teacher. ?
