To grow the economy we need successful businesses, that employ people and are able to give them a decent wage.

I know, in a socialist utopia there is no business, only people, but this is the real world.

If we have another Labour government that does absolutely nothing to empower working people and does nothing to remove the anti-trade union legislation as the last Labour government did I can see the unions financing an emerging movement that will actually act in their interests.

I think it;s inevitable that happens.

Of the largest affiliated unions to the LP, Sharon Graham of Unite and Matt Wrack of the Fire Brigade Union have put Starmer's lot on notice of their intentions. And there are plenty of non-affiliated unions out there like the RMT under Mick Lynch who'd jump in to fund another party which is committed to representing his members and not one that won't even get on a picket line.

It'll come within the first two disastrous years of the Starmer government.

Once those on the left still inside the party realise that this shift to the right isn't a huge ploy to get into office and govern from the left they'll leave in even greater numbers than they have so far...which has been a deluge in any case.

Starmer's historical mission has been to turn the old LP into the new Social Democratic Party. The fall out from that will be to shatter British politics forever.
