Considering the profligacy of the last 7 years, resulting in points deductions and probably more importantly, needing to flog our best players to the likes of spurs and villa to remain financially compliant, while keeping hold of all the over priced dross to the end of their contracts, most sensible Evertonian’s would have an interest I’d imagine.Who on earth cares about that?
Left AM / winger preferred position according to a few outlets.does he play off the left or right?
It’s more likely a smaller fee if the option is taken up, and a larger sell on clause for Chelsea. At least that’s how I read that.I’m probably being overly pessimistic but the ‘financially advantageous if we take up the option’ bit sounds suspiciously like spin for a significant upfront loan fee to me……
1/20 is such a poor strike rate though. Not long now.
Would point to European football being a step too far for us.So actually Beto proved himself as a not absolutely awful bench option in the past month. Clearly he cannot go anywhere unless somebody comes in. And it doesn’t look like we’re interested in any strikers. Would be highly disappointing to be left with Mykolenko starting every game he’s fit until the end of the season. I think we going down the we’ll-mostly-go-with-what-we’ve-got-and-see-if-we-can-somehow-fluke-a-European-spot-with-a-tiny-squad-with-very-little-backup route.
Actually, if we do make Europe, I expect another 100M plus to be spent in the Summer.Would point to European football being a step too far for us.
Me too.Looking forward to seeing Spurs unveiling him later.
Problem with that is that 100m means we get 2 to 4 players, which would be great, but we need a backup everything, first choice rb, first choice lb (Aznou's not playing there), which will run up quite a bit of money that we don't have the freedom to spend.Actually, if we do make Europe, I expect another 100M plus to be spent in the Summer.
We have tied most of our younger, big names to long term contracts, so a relatively strong base is in place.
We make Europe, Grealish is bought, George is bought outright, Illy long term contract and then we go and buy.
One game at a time though.
Agree; but if we get our RB, LB and Striker, the remainder can be loans.Problem with that is that 100m means we get 2 to 4 players, which would be great, but we need a backup everything, first choice rb, first choice lb (Aznou's not playing there), which will run up quite a bit of money that we don't have the freedom to spend.
So Grealish is bought (rumoured 50m), George is bought (rumoured 20m) and that leaves us without a lot of money to spend and in dire need of at least 2 starter level players, before we even consider backups for anywhere.
Grealish won’t be bought for 50, 20 is standard for a highly rated winger from ChelseaProblem with that is that 100m means we get 2 to 4 players, which would be great, but we need a backup everything, first choice rb, first choice lb (Aznou's not playing there), which will run up quite a bit of money that we don't have the freedom to spend.

We don't seem to be able to get those loans, I think they haven't reached our transfer department. That or do actual scouting.Agree; but if we get our RB, LB and Striker, the remainder can be loans.
That's my opinion though.
The money men might be thinking differently.
