2025/26 Tyler Dibling

….given the game situation, I admit that I’d have brought McNeil on. I know it’s not trendy to admit that but I could understand the rationale.

McNeil has been one of our better players for 18 months, Dibling has been a big disappointment. McNeil then literally stunk the place out with his performance, he was awful. I suspect the baton will now pass back to Dibling, it’s up to one of them to grasp an opportunity.

A bit like alternating Harrison/Lindstrom and Beto/Barry. There will always be a clamour for the one that isn’t used, especially Dibling because he’s a big bucks signing and we all want him to be the real deal.
Save that McNeil had never played RW ( except when he came on for 15 minutes against Forest last season - and admittedly set up Doucoure for the winner ) and Dibling is a natural RW.

Anyway we will see what Moyes does next. Wouldn't surprise me if he picks McNeil again

….i never get this ‘give him a run’ point. He started against Palace and was so disappointing he got hooked at half-time. His cameo’s have been poor. Points are valuable in this league, he’s not starting ahead of Grealish or Ndiaye.

I presume we haggled for him because we thought he’d be very effective, the simple truth is he’s been poor. It happens.

We live in hope. After McNeil disappointed I expect Dibling will be next to get a chance, it’s time to step up young man.

Take Moyes out of the equation, any Manager would be desperate for Dibling to start performing. To think a manager would hold him back defies logic, it’s up to Dibling to prove his worth.
Although we seem to give Barry a run...

Its a tough one really, our 2 best players are the 2 wingers...so its easy to see why he has not played much.

We ALL screamed for a right winger all summmer, and got one.

Its just one of them where we and him will have to wait for his chance.

Not sure any of us really expected Ndiaye to step up this much as THE right winger, else we would not have all screamed for a right winger.

Strange football really.

It's not really that we didn't expect Ndiaye to be capable of playing on the right, it's more that we didn't expect KDH to play as a 10. We thought right wing was the key position because we assumed Grealish and Ndiaye would be the other two in those positions behind the striker. Moving Ndiaye to the right has worked out fine for him individually, but all it's done really is moved the problem to the middle.

Mcneil looked like he was trying to hard to make an impression. There was no flow there he was clearly putting himself under a lot of pressure

If Ndiaye had been poor on the Right, im sure he would have been moved, but yes you are correct.

KDH is not even playing as a 10, as he is not one naturally.....and thats the main issue for me with the under-performing strikers....too big a gap from that supposed 10.

Ndiaye has not looked great in 10 either, so its either Grealish or Alcaraz for me, closer to the striker.

Get Grealish in the number 10 spot. As good as he can be on the left, he is a very well known quantity out there. Teams are ready and plan to double up on him and close him down. Moving him more centrally brings them a new dilemma to manage and may well please the guy himself.

Although we seem to give Barry a run...

….Barry/Beto similar to Harrison/Lindstrom. One bombs, the other one starts, then he bombs and they switch again. Groundhog Day.

Only thing I will say is that Barry might have been having his best game until that absolute sitter. I expect he’ll start on Saturday.

Monday was an opportunity for McNeil to claim the Ndiaye spot during AFCON but he blew it. Now Dibling will get his chance, Moyes will be hoping the young fella finally turns in a decent performance.

Despite posters looking for excuses and to blame somebody, sometimes it’s just down to the players. They need to start producing. What you can blame Moyes for is his part in bringing Barry and Dibling in. Hopefully by the end of the season we’re praising him for it.

10 pages of dribble based on a rumour that was based on an older rumour about his personal life.

For mine, he's been bought now to replace Grealish next summer, or possibly NDaiye, and would get games if either got injured. Would love to see more of him, can understand why we haven't, his position is currently occupied by our two best players.
Being homesick when at Chelsea is not a rumour. And current homesick rumour is coming from podcasts ... We have player who played 33 times in Premier league who shone brightly in poor Southampton side, so hardly unexperienced like Barry.

I think he has attributes to be a good central attacking midfielder. Can carry the ball, technically very good and a good pass on him.

Out wide he doesn’t have electric pace to beat a man, an overlapping fullback would help him but as we don’t have one not sure we’ll get the best of him out there.

Reckon Moyes doesn’t have the balls to play someone like him through the middle, same with Alcaraz, too much of a risk.

If you could fuse Roberto Martinez and Moyes into one manager, you’d have a top top manager.🙄

….i think Dibling will be next cab on the rank unless there is an issue we don’t know about that is being managed by the club.

Based on what we’ve seen this season, the form of both players is a concern with AFCON not too far away. If that continues, Moyes might have to look at alternatives to both.

Yes McNeil had a poor game Eggs but would you agree he was nowhere near being match fit given that he has hardly played this season along with some other players and this is down to Moyes, in my opinion, keeping a small squad even smaller by the lack of game time these players are getting—- even the time the substitutes get and he has five to use but seldom does.

….yep, perhaps he needs games but he had a full pre-season, trains every day and recently turned out for U21s. I’ve not known him to be a particularly slow starter to a season.

Presume you’re suggesting McNeil should start the odd game ahead of Grealish or Ndiaye? I don’t think that’s ever happening, that would create a reaction. These lads are professionals, they’ll train hard looking to impress and know they have to take the opportunity when given.

No I think McNeil is a better player than he has shown this season because of lack of game time—- it’s as simple as that, training is different to playing as you know Eggs and McNeil, Dibling, Barry and others are not match fit and should be used more as subs. as long as it is more than the last few minutes, I don’t to tell you or anyone else that today’s football is a squad game with a lot of clubs or most using the five they are allocated.
