2025/26 Tyler Dibling

No, but again it would be much easier to get playing time in that truly awful squad. As much as we're complaining about the squad and current form, we're world beaters compared to 24-25 Soton.
We will just have to agree to disagree, to me their is no sense in how an awful squad can be related to an individual's ability.

Thats like saying Bellingham only stood out because of Birminghams lack of quality.

( and many many more players )

It has little to do with his ability. Soton don't have Ndiaye and Grealish. Of course it will be more difficult to get playing time at Everton than at Soton. I really don't think that's a controversial take?

The point is DM dies not utilise his squad as yet - he needs to get his act together & experiment & be more courageous or the new owners may act sooner than he thinks - but I feel with a few bold changes of personal & tactics he has a good team in there.....
I dont think you understood my post mate.

I wasn't talking about our squad, I was referring to Dibling and the Saints squad.

I think it’s clear that a young talented player is more likely to get minutes in an awful squad though.

Dibling wouldn’t get much of a kick at City for example (look at Palmer).

Bellingham only got the minutes he did at Birmingham because of how awful they were. He’d probably have came through anywhere with his ability but he’d be far less likely to be playing the amount of games he did if he’d came through Chelsea’s academy for example.

There’s a direct correlation between the two which I think is the point.

My bad mate, I totally missread your post.
I thought you were questioning a player due to being part of an awful squad, not that he now has this kind of quality un front of him.

Made this point before. Lot to do with squads and clubs then the opportunity to impress.

Ive no issue with Dibling as hes a very good talent. But ive always said he's not going to come in a be a game changer, make an impact on games like last night. The only thing that makes the fan base expect that is due to the £40mill pricetag.

Thats the main issue. You dont have time at that price for our club. Hence why the expenditure at this point doesn't seem too wise

Wish someone had told the recruiting team that this summer then when our three money signings were a very youthful Barry, Dibling and Adzou:). TBH, if that is true of Moyes, and it seems to be, it shouldnt just be seen as "thats just what it is"... its a major flaw of his as a manager and may get him a pink slip sooner rather than later...there are plenty of more succesful managers who seem to be able to intergrate young players into a team and not just leave them on the bench...trust is a two way street...
