Plenty of decent football people (not Russell Martin) say he has huge talent. He simply must be being sheltered to really settle after finding it difficult, surely? Which is a bit of disaster in the short-term. It better pay off. Dwight McNeil?? There is no chance he is technically as bad as that.

He needs a run, perhaps he gets it during AFCON, but I feel he might just need a run of games without fear of being dropped or subbed off early to find his top form and confidence. There’s flashes of some very good stuff from him.

Moyes would drop him if he got too creative.
