2025/26 Tyler Dibling

If we want Dibling to flourish, we probably need an overlapping RB. Dibling has good tevhnique but lacks a bit of pace. He would benefit a lot with pmayers overlapping an moving around a lot. The guy is still really young, especially for the PL. He does need gametime to develop though. But that goes for all youngsters and Moyes isn't te most generous with gametime for the kids...

He's not very strong, and has a propensity to run down blind alleys. It's not a great combination of flaws. He's young though, and has time to work on both of those things.

Is Moyes getting the best out of some players? Undoubtedly. It doesn't mean his judgement is infallible though. Some players will like his methods of course especially defensive players. Maybe his judgement on other players is wrong though and his methods don't work with these players? Just a thought

….like all managers and all clubs, they get some transfers wrong. They won’t all work out. Barry and Dibling are two very expensive signings that have been largely disappointing, fortunately for Barry we don’t have many options in his position.

Moyes is a manager who trusts players who do the job they’re asked to do. Pretty much like any manager in any course of employment. He’ll love flair and creativity, exactly what he said the team lacked but he’s demanding in what each player gives. The players seem to like working with him.

No you weren't gaslighting me, it's a forum where we share opinions and naturally we'll not always agree but isn't that the beauty of debate? I'm thick skinned enough not to worry about people's critique of my opinions. Ultimately we all want the same thing and that's a successful Everton and we all have different views and visions of how that should be implemented. No-one is right or wrong in essence

One of the best replies I've ever had on here this.

Agree/disagree with anything you want, but leave the derogatory comments about peoples IQ etc out of it. We're here to talk about Everton, not how much of a clown Zat is.

Oh, wait, I've just contradicted myself there, but maybe that was intentional

Yeah it's a forum where people will say stuff you'll totally disagree with but the name calling and the derogatory stuff is quite basically schoolyard stuff. I don't proclaim to know more than others and I enjoy reading other viewpoints as I'm not always in the know as I'm a wool (living in Worcestershire) so even if I disagree with others I always respect their opinions unless it's the vitriol language or opinions on certain players (Patterson for example gets dog abuse which I find sickening)

I'm not a fan of Petterson tbh, but I'll reserve my criticism to saying that imo he's a crap player. It's not his fault we signed him though, and anything that goes beyond critiquing his perfomances is uncalled for.

As others have said, should have left him on loan at Soton. But that's hindsight. Should have took his chance when Afcon took Ndiaye away.

Yeah, but in another universe, in another season, N'Diaye and Grealish struggle with injuries and everybody would be whinging that we'd spent 35 million on a player and not even brought him in to the squad.

You're relieved that no one pulled you up on the gaslighting.

Yet you're name calling now.

Dearie me. I certainly hope Tyler Dibling doesn't encounter people like you in his life.

There was me supporting you by pulling him up on attempting to gaslight you.

Dear oh dear. When it's right in front of your face you didn't see it.

Clear as day.

….the manager has to manage games. Not sure I’d be considering Dibling if we’re a goal up with 20mins to play.

Sounds easy, ‘just give the lad a run’, but players in wide positions are set, they’ve got the measure of their opposite number, they’ve worked opposition out with their full back. Different if we’re chasing a game but Dibling hasn’t shown anything to suggest he can come off the bench and make a difference.

That’s how the manager has to think. If we’re chasing a game, George comes on because he looks like he could positively influence it. If we’re holding onto a lead, the manager trusts Armstrong to hold on.

Only Dibling can change that situation.
I think it's fair for Moyes to say that to do 'well' as a manager, he cannot be giving development minutes to some talented young players, due to the way he needs his team's to play to pick up points etc. I'm not saying I could give him advice on how to play his teams better.

I'm saying that if that is the case, he's probably not the right manager for the current job.

I will absolutely say yes, let's keep him if we get Europe - even if it's off the back of a lot of luck - because it would be an awful look to sack him then.

But there are managers out there who would get the same - maybe not even better! - levels of performance out of the squad, without completely wasting years of players development and working against the long term strategy.

It's not 'develop the kids' or 'pick up points' as the two completely binary options. It just might be for Moyes specifically, and that's an issue.

When a 19 year old shows "the odd flash" then surely you develop them with coaching and game time?

After seeing this for all u23s you can point at it as being a major fault of Moyes.

Theres no reasoning to it.

100%. You have to have the brain the size of a pea to not understand this as an Evertonian...

Which begs the question;

Who are we even discussing this with?

One example of many.

"a manager" youre gaslighting, he's talking about Moyes.
That's what I'm saying though, clearly he isn't backing it up even just in training, tbh the whole thing is just weird but its a 50/50 thing imo, if the club thinks he has weaknesses in is game then yes they should be helping him to improve but some of this is on Tyler whether you like it or not.

I think Dibling scares Moyes, he isn't a refined character/Athlete.
He will see the talent, but will worry about the unpredictability of his game.
Jack has had years to refine his game.

Armstrong/George he can throw out there, knowing they can fit there game into his approach.
whether it's the best use of there ability or not.
We know he loves a good gap filler, you don't use Dibling as a gap filler.

Fighting relegation, you go with experience.
A possible taste of Europe, he will go with Experience.

He's the kind of lad that is probably in his team in the evening, but by the morning his mind has reverted to type.

If it was a dead rubber season, maybe we would have seen more.
