2025/26 Tyler Dibling

Yes, we seriously should not have. Lille bought Rafael Leao for half the price that same window. Matheus Cunha- 15m. Diogo Jota- 14m. It is never going to be winning recruitment for us to pay over the odds for players that have already played in the PL. The ones worth those prices aren't going to end up at Everton. You aren't finding anyone that City or United or the RS or Chelsea haven't passed on already.
Lukaku ?

He’ll come good once he’s fully settled, I’ve no doubt at all.
He is young, but what does settling mean in this instance? Already played plenty of PL minutes last year? Way more than Armstrong. Adjusting to the climate of the North West? Different water hardness upsetting his gut biome?

He has had substantially less impact on Premier League football this year than last. Regression can’t possibly be a good thing. Not like we have a squad of world beaters blocking his progress.

That kid Arsenal have played a few times has only signed a professional contract this week because he only just turned 17. I’m baffled as to what is going to suddenly click for Dibling just by doing rondos at Finch Farm. He is underperforming massively when he has been on the pitch even compared to his own standards shown last year. Don’t mind at all if he tries and fails to take a man on. Do mind not going crazy trying to win the ball back if he loses it.

Not taking that shot last week is totally about confidence and comfort within the squad, and that’s a big shame for him and us. Seamus’ famed welcome dinner round his gaff for new players obviously didn’t work.

“Oh he needs a quality full back behind him.” Why? He showed more for a embarrassment of a Southampton team that were one of the worst the PL has ever seen.

Somethings up. I also think if we can somehow have the patience to keep playing him without sacrificing too many points it will work out. He is clearly ultra talented with the ball at his feet. But other than a couple of decent games, he has been objectively and visually awful.

He's playing for Fulham, and with all due respect to them, they're a nothing club. He struggled with the expectations and demands of the Goodison crowd.
We're a nothing club mate. I know inside the walls of Evertondom we still have this idea that we're this sleeping giant grand old team massive enterprise that is going to wake up and go dancing through Europe like it's 1985 again. But we aren't. We're closer to, or in some cases worse than, the likes of Brighton, Brentford and yes Fulham than we are Arsenal or the RS.

Now having said that I still believe it is in there for us to compete again more so than those clubs. It's going to require a lot of humility and honesty first. It's a long hard road back, and in the meantime we need to be able to say that yes, we are a team that has to look at Fulham as a peer right now.

Look I still hope this works out but he went to Chelsea and was almost immediately back at Southampton because he was "homesick." But maybe he just wasn't good enough. He might not need to settle here, he could just not be good enough. Last year he didn't need to adapt to the PL, he just wasn't good enough.

The fact of the matter is we once again saw a young player showing some occasional sparks but largely being poor in a bad side and decided that in a better side, which in an attacking sense we might not even be, would allow him to not be poor anymore. That's just not always how it goes. Spending 40m to find out is terrible management.

It used to be that young players 2nd season was a downward one.

Does Coleman really have young lads round his house? I couldnt think of much worse. Probably feels like a job interview.

KWP was behind him last season who is an attacking player of course.

He's in the England u21s playing 2 years up. Similar to Tyrique George.

Needs a run of games.

How to say you know nothing in 1000 words...

Completely missing the main point. He’s a very young lad who’s had big move with a hefty price tag. He has a huge weight on his shoulders to perform. All people deal with things differently and it’s clear to see it been tough for him mentally.Anyone expecting the lad to hit the ground running and score/assist for fun is dreaming. He’ll definitely come good, he has all the attributes to succeed at the top level. He just needs time.

Whilst Armstrong has looked good he’s hardly set the world a light. But he gets a pass because he’s playing with freedom and hasn’t cost £40m.

Give the lad a chance ffs

2 totally different players,
2 totally different maturity levels.

Armstrong kicks on from the whistle, the lad is bundle of energy, shouts his mouth around, got the bite, And plays in a forever flowing position.
Also just had half a season of playing.
Local lad, and grown up through the club.

You cant compare these 2 players just because of a birth certificate..

….so glad you finally agree. As I’ve been saying for an age, it’s not about a players age as far as Moyes is concerned 😄

Ideally we'd sign a rapid and quality winger that can play both wings within the next 24 hours. Somebody already proven and on a long-term deal, likely costing £30-40 million, from abroad for better value. I'd then send T-Dibs back to Southampton for the rest of the season, or even to a promotion-chasing side (not Wrexham though).

But seeing as that won't be happening, I hope he gets plenty of game time in the remaining fixtures.

…..it was all set up perfect for him, replace Ndiaye during AFCON and then Grealish’ season ends prematurely. However, McNeil was preferred during AFCON and after his howler v Leeds a 19yo CM replaced him on the right flank. To top it all, a new 19yo winger is strongly linked and could push Dibling further back in the queue.

I’m sure this wasn’t the plan and it’s disappointing. I actually think he’ll now leapfrog McNeil in the pecking order but that’s more to do with his unforgivable gaff against Leeds than Dibling looking better.

Ultimately it’s now down to Dibling to turn things around, he has time on his side but it’s up to him.

Ademola Lookman is sealing a move to Atletico Madrid today, after we hounded him out of the club because he just wasn’t good enough for us when he was a lad. Just an awful player, get him out. Can’t wait to get rid of Dibling in the summer. We are so dumb.
