2025/26 Tyler Dibling

I actually wonder if he’s a bit like Ben White, does he even enjoy playing football? There is no joy in him at all, seems utterly miserable.
Introvert, young lad away from his family who very likely feels hard done by as he's desperate to impress yet has been overlooked multiple times in favour of League One players played out of position, amongst other things.

I cannot believe, how our old man treated this boy. Insisting playing JOB as right back with NO support at all, leaving him completely isolated with 2-3 Brentford-players all the time. What a frustrating night, for a young boy who needs to be guided - no matter the cost.

We all now, he is not a typical fast dribling winger that takes on 1:1. Hes way more technical in his style (like Cole Palmer), and he NEEDS people around him to play in small ares, between the lines and a supporting full back who can overlap.

If David Moyes doesnt defend him in media, he's letting everyone around him down and sweeps his responsibility underneath the carpet.

Unfair on him given we passed to him twice down the right. He don't well to escape through only to surrounded with no help again because O'Brien gets a nose bleed and must have it in his contract to pass backwards at least 15 times a game.

Moyes SHOULD have moved Grealish into the No 10 role and McNeil to the only position he can play.

He will get more games and hopefully we get a right back before his contract runs out

Felt sorry for the kid, no support at all, no movement from barry or the 2 midfielders iroegebunham or mcneil, this happened the few times he got the ball. Plus surrounded by brentford players. Cant remember obrien coming past the half way line to help him either.

This.

Frustrates me how we have to make an example of players like Dibling. They can’t start a match until they’ve had a loan in the championship, sat on the bench for half a season, had another half a season playing out of position, had 2 years in the army, and then once they are starting as soon as they have a bad 45 mins they’re pulled off.

Meanwhile Keane, Gueye, Tarkwoski, Mykolenko, McNeil you can be as rubbish as you like, make whatever error you want, you’re getting start after start year after year.

Im genuinely not sure if hrs good or bad. But he slows the play down, everyone regroups, never seems to beat a man .Call me old fashioned…
I think this is fine in the right situation. A lot of the time I see him slowing things down because a) he's the only player within 20 yards of himself b) waiting for another runner.

A fullback overlapping would massively help. But we don't play with one.

We don’t play wingers into space though. Every single time O’Brien had an opportunity to play a quick ball down the line for Dibling he turns backwards or infield. We don’t transition well enough across the front to get Dibling running onto the ball at pace with a fullback retreating infrotn of him, think we’ve done this once since he’s been here. The team is set up to put Grealish into space, we don’t play the same way to the right winger.

No, but we did pay 40m for him.

That’s our fault.

It’s also true that for 40m (for us) you do need a lot more in your locker than what he showed today.
Wouldve been nice if we brought in a more ready winger, but based on what little i saw of him before signing for us, i was expecting more. Guessing our scouts are thinking the same.
I agree with your point, 40m is an awful lot to pay for potential when in our position.
