2025/26 Tyler Dibling

Not perfect, but a few times held the ball amongst 3 of their players, wriggled free and made a simple pass into space, when the easiest thing was to chip it aimlessly down the line and just wait for their next attack. Brave with the ball given the match situation, and also knowing they may just clatter him to try and get the ball.

Thought he supported Patto then Rohl quite well, at least getting back into shape quickly so they weren’t isolated. Maybe it helped him playing ahead of young RBs thrown into the firing line with him, so they could buddy up a bit and dig in together. The right side looked a danger early on, but they got to grips with it as the game went on.

Got his rewards for the hard work in the closing minutes when they left more space for him to play in.

Best thing for him will be playing the whole game, not all of it pretty, getting an amazing result and being a proper part of all the hugging and high fiving after the game that he was genuinely a part of. Will have done more for his integration than a dozen 10 minute cameos with the senior players and for his own confidence.

Think we can finally take his personnel file out of the “oh no, might be a bit crap” drawer. 😮‍💨
Great postb

…..he’s technically very good in much the same way Grealish is. Like Grealish, he’ll also be physically very powerful, plus he’s a tall lad. Could actually be an aerial threat if he could work on that aspect of his game. We were under the cosh a bit so his value was largely in relieving pressure with his ability to keep the ball.

One thing I disagree with is that he ‘supported his full back well’. He was caught ball watching from very early in the match and struggled to go with his runners. It’s almost like the modern winger needs eyes in the back of his head but it is something he will get better at (Ndiaye is guilty of it at times).

We were defensively open on that flank, I actually though Moyes might withdraw him and ask McNeil to cover Patterson but it was a huge show of confidence in the job he was doing with the ball that he took Patterson off and put Rohl full back. That move helped a lot.

The match situation didn’t allow it but it’ll be good when we see more of him in the top third, hopefully hitting the box and becoming a genuine goal threat when the ball is on the other flank. He’s got lots going for him, a long way from the finished article but looks like he’s being brought anlong and integrated very nicely.

Technically very decent, great quick feet last night and would have probably looked a threat if we had been attacking more. Promising two games on the spin though, and surely another start against Brentford a la weekend.
The acid test I think is on Saturday.
With Grealish back fit will Moyes drop Dibling and play McNeil at RW?
IMO it would be madness but let's see.

wouldnt be against seeing him at 10 when ndiaye returns

The best management by Moyes (if Dibling still performing well) would be to find a way of playing Ndiaye, Grealish & Dibling.

This shouldn’t be that hard considering all 3 are comfortable in several positions.

Would be bad management to just drop Dibling as soon as Ndiaye/ Grealish are back, regardless of his form.

Interested to see how this plays out…

I think the issue you’ll have there is where does KDH go if them 3 play?
