Are we still banging on about Gordon? The weasel Kopite love child of Claire Balding forced himself out of the club. He has established himself as a good but not great player at Newcastle. What else is there to say? Comparing any new player to that slimy piece of redshite is not doing them a favour.

A 19 year old player that the Southampton coaches regard as their biggest talent to come out of their academy in decades, is not being sold for an unrealistic low fee that YOU think he’s worth. The upside on this deal is potentially huge. Even if it doesn’t come off as hoped, you’ll be losing little cash if and when we sell him on.

Amazing our fans thinking players we want should have low fees because that suits us, and then want 80 million for our centre half when others come sniffing. Pure bias.

I think Moyes will improve him. Of course he’s young but he had 2 goals and 2 assists last season. 1 full season for Soton. £27m is a fair price.

It was comparing them at the same age and the difference in type of player.

When Gordon was 20/21 he played 40 games for us with 4 goals and 2 assists in a relegation dog fight. The following season he was sold for £45mill.

There'll be a huge expectancy on Dibbling which will be unfair based on the price we're going to pay.

Hence why we'll still need another attacker

You're right but if it's a choice between young potential and a journeyman I'd go for potential.

That said you do, of course, need a blend of youth and experience.

TFG have cash so now its not that we can’t spend going forward its just the quality ones aren’t interested right now!

So we can start to take chances on promising players as likely TFG taps not going to get turned any time soon

I'm confident Dibling will destroy those numbers.

Why are you comparing the stats of two players with a 5 year age gap and using that as a stick to beat Dibling with? Let’s look at Gordon’s stats at the same age shall we?

At 19, Gordon was playing 11 games in the Championship for Preston, not featuring regularly, and stinking the lower tier out with zero goals and zero assists.

Gordon doesn’t have “blistering pace” either. He has decent pace, the same as Dibling.

Think Dibling has a far higher ceiling, at this moment in time Gordon is better obviously has more experience and has played in a better team.
For me this is a bit of a gamble if it comes off and he continues to get better it will be one worth taking.
I would be made up if we sign him.
