Transfer Rumour Tyler Dibling

šŸ˜†. We’ll be able to see what we’ve bought then. Then I’ll know whether to fume or not. Not fuming when e we can still do business.

We know that Moyes isn’t happy, same as we are frustrated too. We need to think about the rebuild more strategically, rather than fine that we didn’t get our targets in before the season starts
Same old, same old. This club will never learn.

I'm just waiting for the next Myers tweet / column.

If it says "difficult market" we can all go home.

Like for like, I'm happy enough mate as in the players we brought in for who they replaced seems decent business.

We have a few we haven't replaced in addition to areas that needed strengthening.

Its either hard nosed brinkmanship and it comes off at value or we've been highly hubris in our approach.

The next 12 days are going to be fun!

I think we all have a right to be concerned. No RB and no RW. Everyone knew this side of the squad needs a massive upgrade. To say they can not get one target over the line by now is totally unacceptable. This transfer committee is sounding more and more like it cant make a decision. Has everyone got a different opinion? Also buying players with PL experience is expensive. We have been hearing this forever. I think its a cop out to say our scouting network outside the Uk is sh.. On Dibling Saints will now hold out for their asking price and you know they are 100% right. Dithering Everton will probably offer it to them when Dibling is doing his medical someplace else 10 mins before the deadline ends.

Agree. How many times have we seen us being interested in the talented players only to see them flourish elsewhere? I remember when we wouldn’t pay a 20m fee for Maddison at Norwich and Maddison wasn’t even close to Dibling in terms of ability and potential. Leicester paid it and they then doubled their money selling him to Spurs for 40. It’s as plain as the nose on your face that Dibling would be a shrewd investment and has the potential to explode with a good club in the next few years. People keep saying it’s a gamble, is it really? I can’t see him flopping to the point he wouldn’t even at least hold his current value. The boy is going places, he’s a very talented player.

Agree with this too. Kinnear and Hammond are coming in for a lot of stick here, but to be fair, we don’t know what budget they’re dealing with. I’m not convinced the money from the owners is there to do this deal either. We’ve already spent a chunk of coin without bringing any in, we might already be close to the net spend budget for this year. None of us know.

We also still don’t know whether the money IS there, but we’re still sailing close to PSR and doing as much as we can within those boundaries. Citizens of Suburbia on X is of that train of thought and he’s usually very good with crunching the numbers.

Maddison and also of course Wharton available at circa £20mil after we supposedly scouted him for years.

In isolation, each ot Barry, KDH, Grealish, Alcaraz Anzou, Travers, King are probably good deals.

Overall though, someone posted a link to an Everton site yesterday or the day before showing each players fee & also add ons.

From memory:

KDH £25mil + £4mil add ons
Barry £27.5mil + £5mil add ons
Alcaraz £12.5mil
Grealish £12mil
Anzou £7.6mil + £2.6mil add ons
Travers £4mil + £3mil add ons
King £undisclosed

£88.6mil + £14.6mil in add ons
= Potentially £103.2mil

At the end of the season, if lets say @The Bobble had postef that we had all of those players agreed for 1st week of July....

...we'd surely be thinking our spend by August 20th must be around £200mil.

Simply because we'd expect to have RB, RW & DM filled with quality players.

I'm certain some players or perhaps even all of them will come good.

But to spend these amounts without signing a single player we actually needed above any of those makes this window, so far a total write off.

A Dibling or Fofana takes this to a 5/10 for me. A similar profile RB 7/10 and a 6 becomes a 9/10.

They have little time to turn this around.

I do think we still have money to spend but not enough for him. I also think moyes is being bloody minded with targets and needs piping down.

In reality we don't need a world beater on the right wing yet, especially if we don't have the funds ( we possibly need to get into a lower level European qualification cycle for that)

Anyone half decent will make a massive difference as the midfield just has no balance at all. It should not be this difficult to get someone in. Maybe the penny will drop now and we'll be more pragmatic.

It should not be this difficult to upgrade on Jack Harrison without breaking the bank. There's a whole world of players out there. Moyes probably needs to look further than the end of his nose.

We need a top prospect or a top player at both RB & RW and a 6.

A team is only as good as its weakest part.

Wow, how daft can someone be?

Sorry about the name but apparently Soule is only valued at 30m euros?

Cant be true.

šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ we’ve bid 3 times, he wants to come and we want him, im
Peed off that the club aren’t biting the bullet and getting this done
we will be paying over the odds whoever we go for now,
So you may as well go for a player you want. Fatawu will be 40, I’ve seen Trincao mentioned, not sure how much he’d cost, but he’s already failed in tbe league once.

If it doesn’t happen, we will massively regret not getting Dibling in a couple of years.

I dont see us losing money on him unless he suffered a major injury.

The thing is Simon, we can’t attract Eze like we haven’t been able too for a couple of wingers, one went to juve, Forfana said no.
We are shopping in a different market to
Spurs
Hutchinson is 37mil, fatawu will be 40mi
The winger at Bournemouth who has hardly pulled up any trees has gone to Brentford for 42mil. It’s mental, but it where we’re

How its got to this stage without 3 major weaknesses being addressed is beyond me.

As @GrandOldTeam quoted, Moyes is a major part of the decision making process.

Known as a ditherer and apparently Hammond as a penny pincher, theyre both on the noose for me with this.

Spoke to a saints fan yesterday and he said he is the closest thing to bale he has seen play for them

Just his dribbling and spacial awareness put him in the 'special' category.

I think if we had moved for Dibling back in June and been quoted similar we should have done the deal.

But apparently people who havent seen him play, and those who know better than Southampton dont believe hes worth the fee???

I dont think he goes to Palace.

But if he did, Wharton and him will be great for their fans to watch.

What a pity. Still, we have an overpriced and out of position KDH & a loan for Grealish.

I think KDH is probably not overpriced in todays market and i do think Grealish will be a good signing.

The team is so un balanced. We have a CB playing RB while the 2 RB we have spend more time out than in. Coleman unfortunately should retire while Patterson is injury prone and not good enough. They need to make a decision to break the bank or not. Anyone we want is not going to be getting cheaper by Sept 1st and selling clubs might want time to replace.

We'll get to the end of the window and bring in another couple of journeymen and near bottom of the table.

This isn't brinkmanship or good governance it's desperation time for a club that wont pay the going rate.

It's starting to look like a very high risk/ not very high reward approach.

Haggling over and (presumably) eventually committing to an admittedly quite high Dibling fee is fine if you then bring Luiz on loan to fill centre mid.

A lot of outlay, but two players who improve the team - one with immediate impact, and one with a very high ceiling - and know the league.

Good chance now we miss out on both and who else is there? There's been no other solid links in centre mid and at least two of the back up options on the wing have been sold in the last week.

IF its true that there is a clear disconnect between the recruitment team and the manager then you'd imagine that Moyes will be making a rod for his own back here. Can't see him lasting long in that case.

Clearly need someone to take the reins here and pay the money to get the signings we need . From monday clear that Tim is way of the pace and Beto was awful - no movement and looked lost against 2 big centre backs. clear as day we need a full back for each side of the pitch , at least one more striker and a centre back. Keane did nothing wrong on monday but he will make mistakes as he always does. ok with him as 4th choice but really didn’t expect him to start .. I am hoping the new owners see all of the above and it is in process with good news to come soon. COYBS

I thought it was overpriced at £25mil + £3mil add ons. Now its £25mil + £4mil add ons.

Thats for a midfielder who hasnt done anything of real note in the premier league. A player 27 in a couple of weeks time who has spent their entire career in England.

This player Chelsea wanted to bin off quickly. He's been used as a 10 by Moyes in his first 2 games when hes an 8.

For me, £20mil would have been a reasonable deal. Just like with Travers at £4mil + £3mil in add ons, the extra cost can quickly add up.
