Transfer Rumour Tyler Dibling

It's clearly bad news that we won't get Dibling because we now still have no right wide player even though its the most important position in the squad. And all other clubs know we are absolutely desperate.

But you just can't agree to a deal like that. It's clearly bad value for the club and also would set a precedent that we will roll over in negotiations.

The problem is that we left it far too late to try sign Dibling. Now we are in big trouble.

It's also another clear piece of evidence why waiting to August does NOT result in better transfer value.

But I was told we needed to leave it late in order to get our top targets and avoid panic buys :hayee:

If that’s true then they’ve blinked first. Why on earth counter offer?
Not sure that's them blinking to be honest, it may well just be them saying 'let's stop wasting eachother's time, we're not accepting any less than this so either pay it or leave us alone'. I was a big fan of the link but we can't be held to ransom so it's probably time to move on.

Its a strategy that was never going to work. People tried to give then the benefit of the doubt and I understand it because we all want things to be different.

I can only hope this has been a huge learning curve and wake up call to the recruitment team because it has gone extremely badly and they look pretty inept.

I don't know if i believe this to be honest, the lad has agreed terms with us and given permission to and the clubs have been talking for a week. That indicates both parties want to get this deal done.

Strange if you don't have a sense of what it takes to get a deal done and splitting hairs at this point.

This may be optics.
