Throw Ross, Gerry and Lukaku into the mix and I think we can all start getting optimistic for the future.

Have to turn around and say now though after all our panic through the summer, the most sorted part with the greatest quality depth pf the team is now the defence

Utterly bizzare how quickly things can change like

Jagielka, Stones, Galloway, Browning, Coleman, Baines, Garbutt and behind those Holgate, Pennington and Kenny out getting valuable first team experience at Wigan and all three of those look to have as much potential as was hoped for Browning and Galloway, the future at the back looks very very bright indeed

and all of them coming through under the Martinez system of playing it out from the back
