Could not stop watching it tbh once i got used to the pace of it. Brilliant TV i reckons. Could just be that i've invested far too much time in each character though.

The character development is the best part, you genuinely feel you know them. Not many drama's these days come near that. I'd say The Sopranos does but you could argue that is a different generation. That is something that Breaking Bad really lacks, i only pick on that as people go on about it being 'the best show eva', when it is clearly not. It is good but it is just one-dimensional fun.

I can't recommend Mad Men highly enough but when you explain to someone why it can be hard to put into words.

lol this is literally the complete opposite of what just about everyone says.

first episode of season 1 was the peak of the show, was great... gave real hope that would be a deep show with big budget and high quality acting but then it just turned into a cheesy soap opera set in the same old boring location with some zombies thrown in and some of the worst acting you will ever see in a big budget tv show. They also slashed the budget and sacked the writers after season 1 and this all coincided with its massive drop in quality which it has never even come close to recovering from.

i can't stress just how gash the acting is in it, it's beyond terrible... infact the new episode on sunday night was a new benchmark for gash acting, its literally amazing how bad the script writers are.

you realise these are two most common complaints levelled at it by critics and viewers. its been slammed hard for the writing and the decision to sack season 1's writers gained massive coverage and was seen as the reason for the huge nosedive in quality in season 2 (the season you bizarrely love, which everyone else hates)

its not like I'm alone in my views, everyone i know who started watching it thinks its awful now. you only have to go on other forums to see many people share my views.

it really is not that great of a show. the second season is up there with the worst ive ever seen. literally the only episodes you need to watch in the second season is first, midseason break and the last two and you're completely caught up. I watch it because i hope for the best. First half of this season was solid, but the 'second half season premier' was boring as anything.

In some episodes it does feel like nothing's happened sometimes, but then you realise it's just laying groundwork and you can see why the characters do what they do later on and no decision feels rash from them. It's just what they'd do in the situation. Every little event you see a little more of the character. That and the fact it's all so achingly smooth and makes me want to live in 60s America. It's my favourite show easily.
