Was a decent start Carlos. It’s building up to potentially be very good.

Books that it’s based on are very good too.

There are criticisms you could make of the West Wing, but I’ve never ever heard anybody criticise the dialogue before. Aaron Sorkin is considered by many if not most in the industry to be the best writer of dialogue working today.

he is without doubt excellent but i think its hard for a lot of the dialogue not to come off as cheesy when the premise overall seemed cheesy to me. some of the episodes i expected to end either with the hulk hogan theme tune Real American or a soft rock ballad.

It's an odd one as a series. It wins bucketloads of awards, the budget for it is vast, and yet the viewing figures are terrible.

popularity is no basis for quality unfortunately, look at deadwood (also had the superb brian cox in it)

Think it's more an indictment of our times than an indictment of the show that it seems "cheesy".

It'd definitely escapism of the "wouldn't it be great if...." variety, but very very rarely strays into cheese for me. Wonderful show.

I watched the first two episodes, it was part filmed around where I live. I keep losing interest in the storyline as I keep recognising the backdrops.

Yep, every bit as entertaining as The Sopranos.
Don't know why it took this long to get round to watching it but glad I did.
