I've been watching Chernobyl. Have to say I enjoyed the second episode a lot more than the first episode as in the first one I just couldn't get past Paul Ritter (Martin on Friday Night Dinner) playing a serious role! Similar to one of the episodes of Deutschland 86 that also focused on Chernobyl.

Abosulutly brilliant viewing - great acting can't wait to see all five episodes
On a lighter note at the time the joke going around was why would you not buy a pair of Russian underpants ......
CHER - NOB - AL- FALL- OUT
Bum Bum.....

I wasn’t alive in the 80’s when this happened. What was the media coverage like?

I had not long been in my final move of a job, but I know someone who went for an early morning run as an MD of his firm 12 months later he had a rare form of leukemia - he could afford Private medicine etc they swore because he was in the drizzle etc it was the fallout of Chernobyl, he survived after 3 years of treatment.....
Lamb restrictions in the Lakes and North Wales coast were restricted on areas it definitely came over parts of the UK coastline.....
Reporting was there , but let's face it the then USSR only let bits out - I am sure it was on the news last month they went back and the ground around the site is still radio active, but trees are starting to grow etc....

Yeh, living in the Lakes we were taught as kids in school that even some of the milk we get will have traces in it due to the fallout on the landscape where cows graze. Might have been scaremongering but makes sense scientifically.

just watchted the first ep of Chernobyl..

truly harrowing stuff.

its put me in a dark mood, so ive put the cricket back on for now.

I'm still saving that series up.

I've smashed out Escape from Dammeora the last couple of nights.
2 episodes to go tonight.
It's been really good so far, be gutted if it doesn't finish strongly.

You were watching Eurovision attempted song contest lol
Won by a George Micheal look a like singing naff.....
Only seen the end looked utter garbage ....
Our entry came last what was it like never even heard it ......
That programme needs to be terminated....imo....

I`m talking about - Escape from Dammeora Joey, not Eurovision.

Time for your mid afternoon nap.
