It's alright. The first episode was very good, second episode started to lose my focus.

Can anybody please explain anything about either American Gods or Twin Peaks series 3. Watching both at present...
I recall taking mushrooms a decade or so ago and that wasn't anywhere near as spangly or as confusing as these two shows.
My melon has been thoroughly twisted here and I'm not sure if it's the shows being so very very clever or being stupidly obtuse for the sake of "art"

I really enjoyed the book but American God's was directed 3 bongs and a bottle of bourbon deep into a bender.

So the gods are real. They are manifested into reality based on belief. There are older gods such as Mr. Wednesday AKA Odin(Norse), Vulcan (Roman), Ostra AKA Easter (Pagan) etc. These gods were brought to America by the immigrants who believed in them. Over time there powers have decreased as people have stopped believing. Enter the new gods of the modern world Media, Technology, and Mr. World. Now the old gods are used to the ancient times of warfare and know where this conflict will go. The main character, Shadow Moon, is about to be released from Prison at the beginning of the story. Night before his release he has a terrible dream and wakes up to find out that his fiance died in a terrible accident whilst blowing his best friend. He becomes acquainted with Mr. Wednesday who has recruited him as his assistant in this surreal journey via the help of his actual Leprechaun friend.

Book kind of feels a bit like that though. You don't really have much of a clue what is going on half the time.

It's the fella who did Hannibal. I like him but he's very over-the-top. I rolled my eyes nearly out of my skull with the flying slow-mo blood(his favourite thing) in the opening scene of the series.
