Not for me, but it was really damn good for sure.
Nothing can touch The Wire, ever. Makes every other TV show feel unimportant and extraneous.
Sorry not having it.
I'm not going to spoil the ending for those that haven't watched True Detective first season.
How can you say the ending was poor !!!!!!!!!!!!!
The ending is like nothing I've ever seen, the use of the sky, the ruined buildings, the overgrown trees and the general dereliction. It's a masterpiece, hence why season two is such a let down, they simply couldn't replicate the same quality.
It's worthy of every award it received.
You've got to be a wum comparing it to Prison Break lol
Last season of the Wire was quite poor though, due to the writers strike at the time and them having to rush it x

Wouldn't say poor but definitely suffered from that.
But then it's not really a fair comparison if you discount season 2 of true detective but treat the Wire as one thing, as it was also a kind of anthology really; each season had a different theme. The Wire seasons 1 through 4 beat true detective season 1 for me.

The Shield had the best ending of any tv series imo. It just seemed so perfect and unexpected.
When Vic hears the sirens outside, picks up his gun and smiles at it. Then remembers where he is.

Agreed, loved the ending. People put too much weighting 'dramatic ends'.
I'll never ever get bored of defending True Detective, Season one.

Even though he was pure evil, you still felt for him at the very end, as he ended up in his version of hell.
