TV Series

Just watched a three part mini series that I missed last year called The Escape Artist, David Tenant plays a sucessful defence barrister, he basically helps guilty people get aquitted of crimes, he ends up helping a total nutter beat a charge but upsets him in the process, I wont say anymore but it's worth a watch, If you liked Broadchurch, The Fall or Luther you'll prob like this, it's free to watch on Amazon Prime.

I've just watched the third from last episode of Breaking Bad and it's done a top notch job of leaving me numb. I don't know how to react apart from being drained of emotion. Absolutely incredible last season and I'm not even done yet.

Be sure to come back and give us an update on the next two episodes. I found the final stages of BB to be absolutely perfect TV. A blueprint for how to wrap up a long-running TV show.

Everyone claims The Wire is the best TV show ever, a perfectly valid claim, but I always maintain it was let down massively by a very poor final series. BB keeps the quality up right to the very end.

I will but I can't watch the next episode straight away, I'm going to have to wait a few hours to let that last episode sink in. Each individual character is experiencing a whirlwind of different emotions its too difficult to comprehend in one sitting.

I agree with you on The Wire, the last season was disappointing. I also feel that show being ahead of its time works in its favour. If it were to air now would it be as widely acclaimed? Or would BB pip it to the title of best TV show ever?

Yes, I think you can only judge them in the timeframe they were made. I think BB and The Wire are very different, BB is real comic-book fast-paced action drama, The Wire is very much more serious. I don't think there's too much to be gained from trying to rank TV series, it's all very subjective and they're mostly incomparable.
