I watched this too, I thought it was decent only.
Obviously down to perception and so on…

If you`ve read any of his books or read the book that the tv series is based on - Devils Star, you have more of appreciation of his character and how good Tobias Santelmann was good as Harry Hole.

It`s not an easy part to play, as Michael Fassbender showed, when he played him in the film - The Snowman ( another of the books )

My brother has read the books & like you he wondered why Netflix went in at no 7 book in he series as they are all very good books - did it stick to the book story or was it mixed stories in the series of books ?

It pretty much followed the book to the letter.

I reckon they’ve had a look at the books and decided to go with the one that interested them them the most and would work the best on TV.

The earlier books, have him chasing the same killer, so they’d have had to start with book one and do a series.

Yeah agree, he was good… I’ve read a few of the books too, I dunno maybe I was just knackered it just didn’t fire me like say unabomber or mindhunter did

Not in the same league as those two, but you have to take into account the budget both of those series had, withe them being American made, compared to a reasonably low Norwegian detective series

Fair play to Michelle Pieffer she must be near 70 and a smoke show.

It was made by netflix and nick cave did the score, Netflix would have just tried to jump on scandi noir stuff (which died about 5 years ago). I doubt it was low budget

Don't think I've ever heard of that Unabomber, if you are putting it in the same sentence as Mindhunter does that mean I have missed out on a great series ?

Just finished watching all four seasons of ‘Resident Alien’. A bit quirky, but I must say that I enjoyed it from start to finish.
