watching summer re-run crap and just started binging 24 live another day. looking forward to "Almost Royal" or whatever, a couple brits doing a Borat, posing as clueless, self-absorbed royalty visiting the US.
as an piece of entertainment band of brothers is better, as a depiction of men suffering in war, the pacific is far superior@SuperTimCahill that's one of the main reason the Pacific was nowhere near as good. The second main reason is all the early fight signs are in the pitch black.

the fat one? compered to how lecky suffers, sledge suffers, how the experienced gunny breaks down, and ack ack's death, that french canadian commando going mental, not having a pop at what they went through in europe, but the realties where far harsher in the pacific and this was expressed in the seriesDisagree with that. I think it's Buck in band of brothers, who really hits home about a man suffering in the war. His story is one of the best.

Oh that buck, yeah that is good, battle of the bulge is my favourite part, the scenes with 'doc' eugiene as well, all brilliantly doneThe Blond Guy. I think in Bastogne, there's an episode which follows Buck round as he's mentally deteriorating, and when Toye and Garnier get blown up he just loses the plot.
Sledge is brilliant, best character in the pacific hands down. His story captures the mental states brilliantly, but I've forgotten most of the others you've mentioned.
Just got Netflix. Any suggestions? House of Cards has caught my eye, one of their suggestions based on my picks.
Yeah, watch House of Cards anyway, cracking show. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume you're familiar with Breaking Bad, and something tells me you have already watched Dexter, so with that in mind:
1: Battlestar Galactica: Thought-provoking sci-fi. Edward James Olmos is the Captain of a rag-tag fleet of ships after humanity is decimated by the Cylons, leaving only 50,000 survivors. It's quite political and delves into issues of control and human nature. Think the West Wing except hurtling through space at lightspeed fighting robots.
2: The Bridge: Danish/Swedish crime drama. Subtitled. A dead body is found on the border between Sweden and Denmark prompting detectives on both sides of the border to co-operate in an investigation. Overweight Roose Bolton and an autistic hottie follow numerous leads as their unusual relationship develops. This show is absolutely brilliant, get into it.
3: The US Office: Probably don't need to explain this one but easily one of my favourite shows of all time. Steve Carrell, oh my god.
4: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Four sociopaths and Danny Devito run a bar together with hilarious results.
5: Sherlock: Benedict Eggs Cumerbund and Martin Freeman portray Sherlock and Watson in this modern take of ACD's perceptive sleuth. Elementary can suck a big one. There's three feature length episodes in each season and it rocks, although the writing can veer into the ridiculous at times.
Don't watch:
From Dusk Til Dawn, Fringe, Suits. The first season of Heroes is a great but if you even think about starting season 2, tell Philip Schofield you will take the money and you want out of the Cube.
6: Orange Is The New Black: Middle Class girl goes to prison, gritty in parts, very funny in other parts. Plenty of lesbo hanky panky. Fantastic.
