Turning the corner.

If the "corner" is consolidation of our prem existence then this December, inclusive of Dunc's input, then probably yes.

In terms of genuine progress of the kind we desire then, no.

You cannot out exercise bad diet similarly you cannot transform mediocre players into a winning outfit with tactics and churchillian speeches. We must assault the transfer market now and in the summer like the Lakota, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho at the Little Bighorn and ruthlessly feed rancid wage snatchers to the dogs.

Remember well what native Americans say : "A man must make his own arrows."

Thank you

For me we won't have turned a corner until we can win 7 or 8 league games in succession and win at places like Tottenham and Chelsea, let alone The Pit, without it causing much fuss.

I hadn't realised until recently that we haven't won 2 successive league games since April! That's how normalised failure has become at Everton.

It isn't mediocrity, it's outright failure.

This is what Ancelotti is up against. We don't win trophies. We don't win away, we don't come from behind to win.

If he turns the club around, it will be the greatest achievement in his managerial career and arguably the greatest feat by any Everton manager.

But if he wins three games on the bounce, there'll be some calling for a knighthood for him.

Good post and good start to to the Carlo era.

Burn key got what they deserved, showed no intent on attacking or winning the game. A narrow 1-0 defeat was fitting for them showing a lack of ambition like that.

If he stays, he could become a legend here, mentioned in the same breath as Catterick and Kendall. And that will be worth more than any millions he has in the bank.
Nope, nope & nope.
I really hope he brings success but don't fool yourself. Anyone earning millions wants the millions in the bank far more than they care about legend status. He's not an Evertonian. He has no history at the club. He can become a legend to the fans but to him, it's a new challenge and a new job.

I lived near there for some considerable time and I can say that they (Leicester people) are amongst the nicest people I have met outside of Liverpool area. They only really voted Tory because the Bexit issue, but then so did whole swathes of the UK.

Don't let your jealousy of their achievements of the last few years colour your judgement of basically good folks. There is hardly a support base that visits that don't sing that stupid song, or many others. Their team gave us a footballing lesson only earlier this month in the first half, we clawed our way back into the game, but they were fundamentally better than us.

I can never enjoy or even condone the RS giving someone a good hiding, the implication of that is I am happy they did it. I hope those rotten *****inappropriate language here**** RS lose every game, every time, always.
Lowest of the low.

Was great to beat a defensively minded team at home, something we struggled with this season. Beating Newcastle is vital, need to start winning away
