It's july the 6th, we have just signed the biggest TV deal in history, we have 15mil +++ to spend.

I haven't seen enough of any the reported targets but if cash was available for both then it would have to be VVD from Celtic.

7 mil is a bit steep when we have Browning/Galloway for the future. I'd rather we took a low risk signing in that Ragnar Klavan who we where briefly linked with last month. Doubt he would go for more than 3/4 mil max. Then it allows us that little bit extra for either Shaqiri/Merterns or Praet.

Yeh, let's leave the chance that either our first choice CB's could get injured at any point and play an average/inexperienced defender there. Our defence was bad enough last year when we played alcoraz. Surely we have learned we need PROPER cover.

Suppose signing a quality defender keeps all on their toes to perform at the level required.

I'd rather him as back up that Galloway or browning to be honest. He's a decent player with experience, his injury record isn't great but we could do a lot worse.
