I'm over the moon. Feckin best summer wheeling and dealings in living memory...genuinely excited about the season now. And all without adding any debt to the club whatsoever or dipping into the TV money so the accounts should be very healthy next year.

I'm willing to bet all 8 of my testicles that they won't be.

Pretty much this. Squad and first team improved, money left over to clear debts, can't complain...tho some will:unsure:

In total agreement. He's made a profit again after years of underinvestment, sold our best midfielder, countenanced the spending of 20m to a relegated Wigan side, another bizzare bid for a player in the Banega / Fer days of yore, and yet he's played a blinder and getting actually praised.

Not going to praise Bill, will praise Martinez though. A lot of us were worried about him in the transfer market but he hasn't done terribly this window has he? Ok a lot aren't happy with Kone and McCarthy but give them a chance first. Bill gets praised if RM gets a bumper kitty for January, till then he is same old Bill.

I think people are going way over the top just because we have got Lukaku on loan. We still sold Fellaini and failed to invest more than half of the funds, and we went and bought yet another Wigan player who is far from proven. I'm happy because I thought things would be far worse than this, but I think it was far from being a fantastic transfer window.

Whoever our negotiators are deserve a bonus. Martinez has handled himself superbly too. I'm happy as **** right now.

We have Deulofeu and Lukaku, two of the brightest talents in the game, not to mention our own superb Barkley.

Then we have another bright talent in McCarthy (a level below those lot but still very promising) whilst replacing Fellaini with Barry who although isn't as good will provide great cover when needed.

Also Kone/Alcaraz/Robles have given us great depth although i still believe Kone is fairly poor, he should get better with time.

We will have a fair bit of cash to spend in January aswell!

Totally agree mate, gotta be optimistic too that Deleufo might stop another season and who knows with Lukaku he may love it here and want to stay! Felli will be a big miss but 2 out 3 in and we have the best squad we had in years...

Glad we got McCarthy and Lukaku especially.

I hope more people wake up now to the fact we have a gangster running this club given the massive negative net spend we just had. An absolute disgrace of a man who should be run out of town and beaten with sticks.
Been called a 'miserable tw@' for bringing that up; should give you some idea of where a lot of Everton fans stand on the matter.

Decent window. Got a good fee for a player who wanted a move plus 6 m for Vic. It all really hinges on if the left over cash disappears like everyone expects

As much as I love Felli I honestly thought he looked out of sorts under Martinez, he just didn't seem to know what he was supposed to be doing in the system. Moyes has dropped a massive bollock by paying £4m over for a player

Loans are the way the league is going. Do you think Liverpool fans are arsed that Victor Moses is only on loan? Man Utd have just got a left back on loan from Real Madrid. Even if you sign a player permanently on a 3 year deal, if he has a worldbeating first season, he could go. There's very little loyalty. I really wouldn't worry about loans. Lukaku is a great signing.

We failed to invest more than half the funds because the Fernando deal fell through. There wasn't the time to invest. And yeah, many people will say we'll never see the money again. That's a valid comment. But the Ofoe/Leroy Fer money was eventually spent on Kone. Lets see what happens to the left over £10m we now have in January.

McCarthy has potential and great resale value if he develops. We spent £15m on an unproven 20 year old from Standard Liege 5 years ago. I think people are just annoyed because he's from Wigan. People need to stop focusing on where he came from and wait and see if he's any good for us.

Barry the exception at age 32, but we've swapped 25 year old Fellaini and 25 year old Anichebe for 22 year old McCarthy and 20 year old Lukaku. Lowered the age range of the team which needed doing.

People continuously whine about all the Wigan players, we're getting the ones who actually won the FA cup for Wigan, I think McCarthy will end up a great player!
Have faith in Martinez guys!

I really don't understand why people are so quick to knock McCarthy, the kid is a top player and will only improve at Everton. On three occasions he dominated Everton last season. He will win it, intercept it, track runners and pass it on easily allday long so are attacking players can play. Can't think of a better young player to protect Barkley

I know that's a joke but I wish people would shut up with it. It just annoys me knowing the pot is already dry and it's not even 90 minutes after the window.

Who funds our loan signings next summer... Barkley?

You mean we cant sell the guys we took on loan?? Crap. Enjoy this year, I guess.
