He'll be 33 next season, he won't be demanding anything like 120k a week to sign with us when he'd get that nowhere else at his age

We're paying him around 90k and the rest City are paying btw - it was this or miss out on him

we have one bob and a new fleet of lawnmowers incoming. Barry will sign for us, everything i hear about him suggests that he loves the club. I think he'll be happy to fit into the clubs wage structure as he is over 30 and a solid and reasonable pro, and has made his money at city.

I read that Barry is on £120k a week and City wouldn't subsidize on his wages and would only agree to a loan IF we paid all his wages.

I heard the full package for Lukaku was £3m, fee and wages.

But didn't it go to the wire because they wanted him gone and were prepared to give him to us, while we wanted a loan presumably because we couldn't afford his wages? The fact he's on loan tells me city gave in and are paying at least some.

But the timing was very suspicious. I hope it just means surplus from the summer is tied up in some other deal, which would be a legit reason for having to wait for the jelavic money. I dont believe that for a second though.

Its just sensible, we get rid of Jela for good money and we get in a cheapish, possibly more "useful" player for probably the same sort of wage.

Its not as if Jelavic has defo gone, anything could happen.
