Another lower league club that have won a trophy more recently than Everton
I wasn’t though, at no point did I claim Spurs are the bigger club - I said we’re on equal footing with Everton - which seemed to trigger some.Having 'Who's the Bigger Club' competitions amongst ourselves in 2026.
When the sport is owned by state investment funds and venture capital firms, and is a glorified social media follower contest.
Seems a bit trite and pointless to me.
That's because you touched a nerve mate. In a lot of people's minds we shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as Spurs, when the reality is the two clubs are very similar.I wasn’t though, at no point did I claim Spurs are the bigger club - I said we’re on equal footing with Everton - which seemed to trigger some.

I love the way "major trophies" is used as a fig leaf to hide the naked truth that the only two trophies that really matter are the League Championship and European Cup. Sure, the FA Cup and the minor Euro pots were prestigious once upon a time, but being a good cup side was never a substitute for being the best side...something that was proven in the League Championship and then, having won it, in the European Cup.

The Kenwright Decline is the reason why fans of other clubs can legitimately imagine their two-time title winners are of the same stature as nine-time champions Everton. We've been in hibernation for 35 years. Let's see if there is actually any ambition at the club this summer...
Agree to both.Spurs are a big enough club but apart from a couple of flashes in the pan have never been a top club. Simple as that.
As for Everton: if Moyes gets us between 10th and 14th and TFG reward him with a contract extension we have our answer on what their strategy is for this club.
Tell you what mate.
