I don't think Gylfi did badly when he came on, but when he came on it immediately showed what our midfield has lacked up until now - or at least since Gana left.

Bite, physicality, power, energy.

Gomes looked back to near the player we know he can be today and that's without having played a minute in 6/7 weeks – all because he had Doucoure and Allan around him.

That's some midfield if it clicks. Just need to make sure - against teams like WBA next week - we can not only control the game but also play our way in.

I cry when people mention Gana.

Proper little jarg merchant.

He was great today, if he does that every week problem solved.

We talking about Coleman?

Defensively, he has been really solid for the past 2 years. It's going forward that he lacks now. He knows he hasn't got the legs to go back so is more cautious.

Hopefully, with Allan and Doucoure in, he can be a bit more adventurous. Ideally, we need a RB with more pace and power and energy to come in, so that Coleman can be reserved for games like today where we need a solid defender in there. But he was good today.

Signing a quality wide player opens up so many doors for us.

James can play in Gomes' place or out wide

If Richarlison/ James are injured it means we dont have to see any of our crap wide players in the team

If DCL is injured and Kean isnt doing it then Richarlison can move central with James and said wide player either side.

Opens up so many doors for us - teams like WBA will park the bus 10 behind the ball - we need pace out wide to open them up - look how Mane/Salah break down teams with their pace alone.

Thats been our problem for a few years - too slow, no pace and teams can sit back and defend happily against us.
