Games in hand wise* if they are all won by those above us the table looks like this:

Chelsea 72
Spurs 62
City 60
United 58
Arsenal 56
Liverpool 56
Everton 51

...Liverpool are the lowest hanging fruit in that event so a win in the derby is the only way of securing a better finish than 7th. Even a draw there would not be enough in all likelihood

*Not sure if any of those with games in hand above us play each other.
Almost rawk like..... :cool::cool:

United's two games in hand are away at saints and away at city

Arsenals are away at saints, home to Leicester.

So very good chance both teams will drop points in all there games in hand.

Assuming each team will automatically win those games is ignoring the obvious

Man U's next game is against West Brom after we go to the Pit. West Brom will be tough for Man U. Also, from April 1 Man U are playing twice a week until April 27 and there's currently only room in their schedule for one of their rearranged fixtures assuming they win their EL QF. Avoid defeat at the Pit and at Old Trafford and my money will be on us catching them because of inevitable injuries and tiredness they'll slip up more than we will in the remaining games.

I think if we draw at the pit heads my fall off their. Deffo if we win.

Look how they bottled it when Chelsea caught them. I see a similar run if United can catch them. It was sparked by Sunderland. More points dropped To us will have a similar result.

Either way I fancy us to catch them. I also think if it's 7th this season for them, it's relegation fodder next season for them.

If we win the Derby and avoid defeat against United I think we'll finish 4th, big ask to win then not lose those two ofc

Yes I think you are right mate. It would kill them psychologically, ironically because of Uniteds form. If United were out of the picture I think there would be no meltdown but they are panicking that United and Mourinho will finish above them.

As for us I think we will struggle. We still freeze against top teams. Let's see though. I foresee two defeats.

we are in the same situation as we were before Spurs aren't we mate, just with games running out. They are both must win games or at the very worst 4 points out of 6.

Pretty much

5 Man Utd 27 19 52
6 Arsenal 27 22 50
7 Everton 29 21 50

No change with Spurs (they gained a game in hand though)
Closed 1 on City
Closed 2 on Liverpool
Closed 3 on United (they gained two games in hand)
Closed 6 on Arsenal (they gained two games in hand)

Overall our position is slightly better than going into the Spurs game - despite us then losing that game over the period from just before it to now we have still gained ground on the teams above.

Obviously time and games are running out, but it's gone from being 8,6 and 5 behind the three above us, to being 6,2 and 0 behind now, a win in the derby would be absolutely huge - especially given that at some point those Europa games may become Uniteds focus as the best route into the CL - especially given Mourinhos excellence in cup competitions when it gets to the wire

The break has come at a bad time for us, because watching their game today - it was noticeable that first 30 they couldn't live with the pressure city put on them and only came into it once city tired, but the alarming thing for the rs would be that city came on again strong the last 20 minutes and the rs looked out on their feet - for a team that lives and dies of its ability to outwork the opposition thats a massive alarm bell (especially as City arent known for being able to wear down a team in that type of attrition game)

Just need to absolutely smash into Mane early as Leicester did and then set a workrate in the game they won't be able to match for the full 90

Yep agree with all that but I do think they will cover more air miles with internationals. I think Klopp is more reliant on time between games which they won't get with the break.
I do thing Morgan missing out will be huge for us. He was poor second half at Spurs but our best player first half when we were under the cosh.

I think we have a big mental block though. Robles, Lukaku, Barkley look different players in big games.

If we were to win it would be a huge turning point result. The sort Kendall wrongly attributed to the 91 cup tie.

good work that Sherlock! interesting to see that the defeat didn't really have a negative impact.

beat the [Poor language removed] and we can keep on believing mate!

Oh IF we win it - then yeah it'd be huge mate, not confident because by and large we bottle these games big time, which is why i am hoping Koeman just thinks 'f' it, and goes with a team including Davies and not Barry - go for players who will really be up for this game
