I don't care for the central premise that life is like a box of chocolates. Packet of Frazzles, certainly, full of artificial highs and lingering feelings of remorse for days after.

Or, life is like a chocolate orange, hard to break into and ultimately sickening.

Also, I hated Jenny. Properly hated Forrest too. Pair of Koppites.

It's just not a good story on a fair number of levels, and it engages in a lot of emotional manipulation of (American) audiences in the course of telling it.
