Some of you don’t deserve Tom Davies. It’s quite simple, if he doesn’t play we’re absolutely turd yet he’s now becoming some people’s favourite scapegoat. A 19 year old local lad who just wants to play for Everton, is probably our best attacking midfielder yet cops abuse from the fan base. Meanwhile players who have been bang average this season like Gueye and Siggurdson dodge it completely. Shameful.

Mostly true.

Sigurdssson has not dodged abuse though. Despite outperforming gueye throughout the season.

No surprise yesterday when he came on things improved a smidge. An out of form low on confidence Tom Davies is still miles better than what we have because he offers energy, legs and tempo which in turn gives us balance.

Davies, Vlasic, Baningeme all have energy and legs and all should have been on at half time at the very latest.

Some piss poor management went on ( again) yesterday and another game where the management didn't earn their wages

Has to be so disappointing for some of the young lads straining at the leash to get a game yet even with a midfield injury crisis, with premier league safety assured, the manager will still select Schneiderlin who frankly doesn’t deserve a minute more in blue over them.

I would even think Besic and Dowell must be looking on wondering why they are on loan when Rooney and Schneiderlin are starting.

It baffles me the regular “ I don’t understand what Davies does “ on here. It’s as if people just can’t be arsed understanding football beyond what a striker and a goalkeeper does. Yesterday was a good example of what Davies does.
Firstly he’s a 19 year old who can’t turn this team around on his own and doesn’t have the outstanding skill and ability to transform a game the way a young Rooney had. A brilliant City side had the run of the pitch in the first 60 mins, nobody was filling in the space or closing players down the way Davies does. I doubt if he’d have made a difference to the final result if he’d started, they’d have just passed and worked the ball around him, but we’d have some energy about us. There was a point in the first half when Rooney had the ball deep and was being closed down by two City players, his only outlet was to try a wonder ball out to Walcott, which was cut out by the full back. Davies is clearly instructed by Big Sam to be the player in space nearby which would have allowed Rooney a simpler 10 yard pass to Davies if he’d been on . He still makes my eyes roll at times with his passing and turning into trouble, but he’ll improve these things .
Hopefully what he did when he came on was apparent. No he’s not going to lead us to the promised land of CL football on his own , and he’ll have bad games this season when the usual knockers will be back in force but for a19 year old still getting to grips with PL football he’s doing fine.

Well today is a good example of what Tom doesnt does.

Utterly appalling footballer who is heading rapidly for Snivelley territory, and that's not something I say lightly.

Really can't understand how anyone can think this lads got a top future ahead of him, just lacks any quality with a football at his feet but gets patted on the back because he fouls and runs around a lot.

Yes he's young, yes he's a local lad, yes I want him to do well... but I just can't see where the actual football ability is. Now go score a worldy and make me look like a mug.

Second season syndrome. Difficult for young players in a struggling team
