Average pass accuracy
TD 80%
Besic 96%
Gana 85%
Stats that mean nothing without context. Jordan Henderson has a higher accuracy with a longer average distance than Kevin De Bruyne and Leroy Sane over many more games and minutes of comparable football.
96% is an average of Besic's stats over the total of the 2 Prem appearances he made for Everton this season. One of those appearances was 5 minutes against Citeh where he attempted 0 passes.
The only real contribution is the 2-0 defeat against Chelsea. His pass percentage against Chelsea is where the 96% comes in and they were pretty much all backwards or sideways passes. The two notable exceptions are a long ball played forward from the Everton box that went into touch and a very short forward pass which Squawka defines as a key pass which I assume led to a chance for Everton.
Davies range of passing in the same game featured more forward passes - not surprisingly this was where the majority of his failed passes came. This could be indicative of poor decision making on Davies behalf, poor running off the ball or simply a reflection of the fact that attacking passes are often harder to pull off. He is also one of the few players we have who is willing to turn on the ball and look to go forward with it.
Davies has not had a good season but then neither have the senior players around him. He came into the team last year with no pressure or expectation and impressed. But he is now in a situation where people are looking for him to have great games and moan at him for making mistakes in one of the toughest leagues in the world. It's utterly bizarre.
