Its not got much to do with mina.
There is a great clip on the Everton youtube channel of this. Great side on view. As the ball drops to davies.
The first thing you notice is the poor first touch. Instead of his first touch bringing him in it takes him slightly out. You then see him clearly look at de gea. And then look at mina. I know its a split second thing but its what seperates teams with good players who kill you off. And teams that dont. Davies when looking across can see mina is offside and plays a forward pass. Its almost impossible for mina to stay onside and then be available for the pass. The red shirt blocks the pass if he checks his run.
So in terms of this conversation not happening. You're right. It shouldnt be because davies clearing looking up and seeing an offside player and playing a forward pass.
Like i say. Teams with players who kill you off. And teams that dont.

That's the point though, he is a squad player. If it wasn't the last 5 mins, he wouldn't have been on the pitch to be in that position. Very few teams have sub players who will kill you off, otherwise they would be starting in the first place.

I dunno about that mate tbh. I get the squad thing. But for this one. I think a lot midfielders in the prem punish united there.
I posted a stat yest. And i was being kind to him only posting last seasons. His three years stats are currently 1 goal and 1 assist. In three years? Thats 74 games involved. 50 of them started.
Thats just not good enough even as a squad player.

Yep. And i posted that earlier in the gray thread. Townsend and gray have already passed all of last seasons Everton midfield in assists. In 7 games. Townsend has scored more goals than all of them.
And people wonder why we never win anything.

Never mind their output last season - add every season they’ve been here together and it’s still probably not getting close to Gray, Townsend. Thankfully Doucourre looks to have stepped up as well in that regard.

Tom Davies will have been spoken to by the manager about his performance, the goal chance will be just one incident in the review. The manager will have an opinion on it and then they will move forward.
I don't see it as a big deal in the players career. He was brought in as a shield in front of the back four with some licence to move forward but I think it would be a far bigger issue if Utd had scored a goal as a result of a mistake he made.
We don't know where Tom Davies fits in the managers plan going forward because at present Allan and Doucoure are doing so well it is impossible to break up the parthership. The same uncertainty is there for Andre Gomes.

I never get worried about opinions on GOT about players and specially about players after a game... it is usually a series of knee jerk reactions and commonly certain posters having a dig that they don't like and repeatedly comment in a negative way.

If you were to use use GOT opinion as a basis for picking a team last Saturday you would probably not include Pickford, Keane,Gray, Rondon and Townsend.
All of these have been spoken of negatively, some have been excellent in recent times, but if their form disappears then the negativity will return.

He's not a clown. It is possible to just discuss on here if he is good enough or not without comments like that you know.

They cost money and are likely on much higher wages,few to go before Davies.

Was really disappointed with his choice to pass when I think every other midfielder on the pitch would have pulled the trigger but hopefully it can be a turning point for him. Time will tell with him, but I think every supporter would rather have a local player through the academy over a bought player provided they are up to it. I think Tom has all the ability but has lost some belief somewhere along the way. Might be the churn of managers or the desire to splurge crazy money on players who in truth often aren’t much better, but fingers crossed he can turn this to his advantage. If he doesn’t, I expect he will be sold in the summer.
