As a part time psychiatrist - I can see that this obsession/expression with styles and different clothes is a cry out for help - “look at me!” “who am I?” “How do I fit in?” “What is my talent?” “Value me!” Once he is captaining England I expect to see this fad pass.

Being an avid watcher of Mind Hunter, I `ve reached the conclusion, that he`s preparing the world for his coming out as the worlds first professional transgender footy player.

When he deems the world to be ready, he will transform like Francis Dolarhyde in the film Manhunter and emerge to dazzle the world, resplendent in all his glory.

I don't understand what's disgusting... You have no idea what he does with his money (couture aside) and it's not like there's a finite amount of money in the world and he's stealing it off somebody else.

He's a 21 year old lad who clearly loves his job, tries his heart out every time he plays and dresses in a way that makes some supporters uncomfortable. Genuinely not seeing the issue here.
I guess I'm just envious.

I was never attacking his personality. He seems like a nice boy. Just think it's too much money for someone so young. I can't honestly tell how much he applies himself. I never see him in training and maybe for a few mins if he comes on as sub.

For 50k a week he should be playing every week in a first team elsewhere.

Ask yourself why he's not better than the first season he broke through. He looked like a real prospect before his 50k bonanza reward. What a waste of money when he doesn't even get a run in the side.

How does choosing to dress differently to you indicate he isn't arsed about football?

Can you please give a list of casual clothing that demonstrates suitable levels of interest in the game?

I know for god's sake. Only if he wears training gear all day long and posts stuff like 'focused on the next game' will people be satisfied. It's not our problem what he does on his time off and what he does with his money. Has absolutely no relationship with the football. (unless it's unhealthy and unethical of course!) I won't be surprised if stupid 'fans' get rid of him by gettting at him on social media
Probably Andre Gomes' 'normal' espresso, walking and chilling posts are more acceptable. We seriously have to be more open minded. What about our players from different cultures? What if a muslim player posts about his prayer or his devotion to Allah? What if someone posts themselves wearing their ethnic wear? Or a photo of them singing or dancing? Or a family picture from their holiday in Ivory Coast? I hope we are really like a family of fans and accept anyone whatever they are like and whoever they are

This stuff hits home for me personally, I spent 15 years working in corporate jobs and had multiple run ins with various degrees of knobhead about why I didn't look/act/think like everybody else in the place... Why do you want a group of people who are all the same? Why is that good?

As long as the lad applies himself in training, nutrition and recovery and has the trust of the manager, the rest is his business. Would you rather he was dressed in a nice suit and falling out of casinos at 2 in the morning?

Is he really on £50k a week? lol mental.

Really don't give a stuff what he wears, does or posts on social media.

Put the effort in and play well on the pitch and I'm happy.
(not so much to cheer on that front either though)
