Phelan: 'I don't think the manager is any fit state to talk to the referee. It speaks volumes I am sitting here now not the manager." @philmcnulty 43 minutes ag

I'm not reading all the thread but my thought's on that game tonight....United were comfortably in control of the game until that ludricous sending off....Fergie reacted to it too late and the game was lost.... I would have maybe sacrificed welbeck for Rooney as soon as it happened and played Rooney in the midfield.....would have tightened United up a lot but still with the potential to break away with quality and grab another to kill the game off.......................

suppose that's why i'n not a premier league manager though ha ha

They were deffo robbed.

100% agree with that assessment.

Almost forgot about this, but how are ITV still so bad at everything. The VTs they do are terrible, nearly all the people involved are terrible, and Andy Townsend doesn't know who Diego Lopez is and 'doesn't fancy him' because 'he has the look of a second string keeper'.

Mick hates Andy Townsend mate

United fans moaning about 'yet another' decision going against them.

They're as bad as the RS at times. NEA.

Correct, it's like they expect some special treatment, guess what... Refs make mistakes, not always in your favour.

Deal with it.

Still don't think it was that big a mistake, at full speed it looked dangerous. Plus he extends his leg at the last minute and at speed it could be interpreted as a kick out, obviously seeing the replays again it isn't but the officials on the field don't have that privilege. If it was the assistant that gave it then he might have seen that and offered that as his reasoning. Raising you foot that high on the football pitch is always dangerous, if you don't catch someone then fine but if you do, even if it is unintentional, you're in trouble. Maybe a red a tad harsh but a yellow and a foul definitely, so that considered the referee didn't get it that wrong. United didn't respond well either, they had chances to score - two headers which although were good saves perhaps should have been buried, and Rooney should have scored.

I think the lad watched The Karate Kid boxset before the game to calm his nerves and got caught up in the moment really, rush of blood to the head and a voice whispering 'Nani Son, wack him lad dead ard' and the rest was history.

It would be typical of our luck to get that sort of decision.

I was pondering that before that it was a very Everton thing happening to United. Not that I genuinely believe that we hold copyright on all football injustice but I knew exactly how they felt.

A mixture of anger, sadness, resentment and hostility to the entire world.
